Ramps for Salem races

I promissed some ramps for the State Games races.
I'm thinking of building something like these Quebec ramps: http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3613
But perhaps even lower height, and perhaps without the final transition. The theory being that when set at the top of the Salem hill, the natural "ramp" portion of the upper part of the hill will add to the height and provide the final transition.
Does this sound reasonable? Does anyone want to help? Any other suggestions?
Basically, my goals are:
1) A minimalist ramp. 2) No fear factor for beginners. 3) Low cost 4) Easy to transport 5) Use as much of the natural hill "rampness" as possible. 6) Simple to construct. 7) OK if it only works at Salem and not on other hills.

That Race I Missed........

Hey, That video footage was pretty fun to watch. Looks like everyone had a good time.
My nephew and I slalomed in Colorado and randomely ran into Barker in Longmont, then we rode the skateparks in Longmont, Ft Collins, and Cheyenne. If you ever go to Cheyenne(the redneck, s#@!kicker and makebelievegangbanger capital of the West), be SURE to take your park setups and a broom. They just installed the BEST kidney pool I have EVER skated at their skatepark(plus some other cool stuff). I can't believe that in the town I grew up in that they actually have a GREAT cement pool as part of the cement section of their skatepark(in addition to the metal ramps that are O.K.).
Anyhow, that looks like a fun race, wish I was there. -P

Strykeforce, Brad, excellent event, the race went off awesomely. Great to see some P-towners, Josh with the one-liners, half the Harris crew (missed you Judy!) and especially watching the newbies start on half a hill in the morning and work their way up to the full course, timer, and even counting cone penalties by afternoon!! Brad's severed arm trophies were sweet!!
I want to again thank my sponsor -- Corey Moy -- for providing a RADIKAL setup for the tight course Sunday.
And sweet vid!! Surprised that didn't go into the YouTube ADULT section with Dano's boobs on prominent display.

John, James, Corey, and all of the Seattle crew who helped put on the race:
Thank You! Very enjoyable race, I will certainly be back if you have another one.
Best things about this race:
1) I didn't do squat to help run it -- instead, I got lots of runs in. 2) The asphalt is perfect! 3) Very challenging courses (tight and really-fast Hybrid)! 4) Free sandwiches and water! 5) Skip drove from PDX-SEA-PDX and I listened to Josh's jokes on the way up and slept on the way back.

We now have 3 people coming to the Beaverton slalom practice sessions:
Myself
16-yr-old new slalomer Addison Fox (with a Pauliwog Subsonic board) "Barkley" -- a ski racer in the neighborhood who is now on his way to Daddies Board shop to pick up a slalom board.
Anyone want to make it 400% ????
Thursdays 6pm-8:15pm at the "secret" slalom spot in Beaverton.

I realized last night I will be flying to Wyoming May 14th-20th so I won't able to make the Seattle race May 18th. If you guys decide to do any more date changes, then I likely will be able to make it in May. Don't change it just on my account but if a change works better for others, it will for me too.
Thanks - P

Hey THANKS to everyone who showed up and rode, helped cook and arrange food and contributed food and cleaned up and collected cones, etc. Thanks to Pat for his timer efforts.
That was a Great time, it was kinda nice having a smaller group this year compared to last years huge turnout(which was neat to have but I'm not sure I want it to be that big every year). I had a great time actually riding as well as cooking and newbie-clinic-ing.
It was great seeing everyone and talking with everyone. The big surprize was seeing Aaron Burke and Kathleen(? is that her name, I'm so bad about that) and their kid.

Comrades, the weatherburo at www.weather.gov is stating today at 10:40am that there will be a 30% chance of rain in Salem after 11am and 60% chance of rain Sunday Night. So what does that mean?
It means: The BBQ is still officially a "GO" since we've put it on with worse forcasts in the past.
MY LEAF-BLOWER IS DEAD, ANYONE WHO BRINGS A LEAF-BLOWER WILL BE A HUGE HELP!!!! There has been a lot of rain and wind in the last week so I expect the hill to have a lot of twigs and such.
Also remember those CONES and CHALK and PARK DECKS just in case.
