That a certain long distance pumper from Seattle rode in the STP (Seattle to Portland bike ride) this past weekend. 200+ miles in 2 days, that's impressive and insane. Is this true? Are there photos available? I, for one, would have been at the finish line had I known.

I know this isn't the correct forum, but I wanted to give my boys in the NW first crack. I have a polished Splitfire 107 for sale, for $90. It has a upgraded kingpin, both longer and harder, and the baseplate is drilled to reduce mounting issues with lots of wedging. Will come with 2 white barrels. Anyone interested, fire me off an E-Mail.

The 2006 Bridge Pedal in Portland is scheduled for the same day as the Combo-Plate race in Seattle. There will be a few Portlanders doing the ride. Those who aren't need to find a good way out of town! This year ALL the bridges will be used. The following weekend is the Nationals, and the weekend after that is Portland Pusher #6. Also, the Festival of Wheels in Goldendale,WA (MARYHILL!!!) is the same weekend as La Costa. Lots to choose from...

Superman Award??

I don't deserve no stinking Superman Award. Met with the orthopedist yesterday, a couple of cracks but probably no surgery, 6 weeks of healing and some PT and I'll be back. The doc has me scheduled for a CAT scan but isn't expecting that to change anything. Sounds like Tim deserves the award, two fractured ankles and he was still trying to race! Get better quick Tim!!
I was thinking if we did Big 'n Fast in Portland, we could probably do a Tight/Hybrid @ WSU the same day. Maybe?? I'm not seeing a good way to squeeze a race into September, between the soapbox race (in PDX) and La Costa. Maybe late October? Ideas and suggestions?

I didn't see Dave fall but from what I've been told Dave should get the Superman award!Though Luck. You were really pushing it. I did see Tim go down though and He did bounce back. Even with a injured ankle he still tried to skate on Sunday. Not knowing he had fractured not only the swollen ankle but the other as well. Now he's laid up for 3 weeks and going have to go through some physical therapy. Get well both of you. Hope to see you in Portland or WSU in September. Right Dave? Post that race. Skate Fast,Push your L,Have Fun But BE Safe! L8er John

HOOD RIVER - I was SOOO stoked watching all you guys go faster on T/S than I've ever seen you go before, I know I did. Thanks for cheering me on everyone. Big Thanks to ScottyBobSonic for making such a perfect deck for me for the T/S.
Does anyone have any footage we can get on DVD or VHS? (OK, I'd really like footage of me against Hollien so I can see what the heck I'm doing).

"A" class and "B" class

Next year's State Games might have the following classes:
"Experienced Adult" class -- for those who race CSA and/or have racing experience. (Most of us at that race). "New Adults" New racers, but old enough to be called adults. "Kids"
And with more promotion and avoiding schedule conflicts, we should have more racers.
As far as CSA events in general, I think a single class is the way to go, since our races are not really big enough for further breaking into classes.

THANKS, THANKS, THANKS to PAT CHEWNING for putting on a GREAT event, that was a really good time all three events both days. Hopefully everyone liked the courses (I did, but then again I'm the one who set them). Thanks to everyone else who showed up and helped setup/teardown, conehead, cheer each other on, etc.
"A" CLASS/ "B" CLASS/ OPEN CLASS???? - Do we at some point want to start having an A and B class? or do we just want to keep having open class racing. Personally I do not care but since I and a few others in CSA have made it to the A Class in National/World events, Do the rest of you think CSA should use that as a guage and have a CSA "A" bracket? If more peaple would show up because they felt like they had more of a chance to win in a separate class, that might be worth the extra trouble.
I don't want to be a trophy/medal hog and would like to see others get more chances at medals, since I have plenty on my racing shelf. I've also probably had more time to practice than others and made racing my life outside of work during 2004.

Thanks very much to everyone for racing, helping set up, helping to run the race, setting the courses, and putting all the stuff away at the end.
I now know how to predict the hottest day of the year -- it always occurs when we have our summertime Salem race. (New record-high temp for Salem 101 deg F).
Send me any suggestions for improvements next year.
Big thanks to our sponsors who supplied products for the prizes: SKATE KINGS INSECT SKATEBOARDS ROE RACING

Mr. Chewning - SALEM ROCKED!!! Thanks for putting together one of the most organized and smooth running events on that perfect hill -- a Big GS, 100 cones at speed, a mirrored dual hybrid, 100 degree temps, and the Gatorade girl. Can't ask for much more!

Starting time for State Games Races

On 6/23/2006
Pat Chewning
wrote in from

(67.189.nnn.nnn)
There is an inconsistency in the posted start times for the races. The NCDSA posting says 0900 and the State Games site says 1000. Both are correct.
We will start the 1st official timed run promptly at 1000.
We will have the course set up and ready to run at 0900.
Between 0900 and 1000 I will take on-site registrations, allow practice/tune-up runs, etc. With the courses already marked there should be no excuse not to be all ready to go in the cooler hours of the morning.
The earlier we start, the less time we have to sit out in the record-high triple-digit temperatures predicted for race day.

Dave M- I'm guessing your room will fill up, if it does'nt, then the Wifey and myself might fill the remaining space at Hood.
SALEM - So, is anyone getting a motel room in Salem for Saterday night? Need a roommate? Let me know-Paul
