Blabbing Probation

I think I'm on some sort of blabbing probation for a limited word count or something because I've posted all over NCDSA tonight but it won't let me post as much about the "Big-N-Fast" as some of the blab that others blabbed about whatever they were blabbing about. OK, I guess that's all I have to say for now, if I think of anything more, I'll bring it right here for you guys, first thing. Really. I promise. Oh, yeah, and Happy Birthday to Stryker. OK, I guess that about wraps it up. Um, yeah, that's pretty much it I think. OK. So I'll let you guys know about whatever it is that I come across that's of interest it I do come across anything that is of interest. Right here. Really. OK. Schlater-Paul

I've tried 3 times to post the results and a write-up on the Slalom forum and keep getting bounced out. If anyone else wants to try, go for it.
Anyhow, Congrats again to Stryker! Robin McEastside definately had the fire in his eyes and gut! Lambright made the biggest progression of times through the race. I'm keeping it short and sweet so I can post this. Thanks again to everyone for their help, and to Skip for the great trophies, and thanks to everyone for showing up and racing. We had 36 racers racing, I think that might be the biggest showing yet. Adios-Paul

Malcolm & Crew,
I believe we were talking about a race in Portland later this month. It will be posted here first.
You guys ought to make it a weekend. We have sooooo much to skate. Swollen Members are playing Oct 28th. Maybe do the race the 29th?
Also, the Grand Opening for the new Pier Park is Oct 14. The Nike SB team will be there and I'm sure the NW rippers will be out in full force. I know where the elusive Thor will be that day!
Will this forum turn into Canucks Slalom Assoc???
Super fun race Paul! It was great to see everyone. Thanks again to all that made it happen!
See you guys soon!

Thanks Paul for a most excellent event-- What a killer turnout, around 33 racers?? A huge highlight being Pete racing the tiny banana board against Lambright's 56"? setup! And some of the finest handcrafted trophies ever to grace the sport, nice one Skip! And great shots Cory. Hard fast wheels were the right call for that hill.
If another gig on that secret P-town place comes together let us know!

He's back in town from his backpacking trip. There is no bbq tomorrow, we'll be eating afterwards at a establishment to be named later. There is a big need for leaf blowers, acorns have infested the pavement.
On a side note for Pat, I will be bringing all of the timing system components I have in my possession.
See everyone tomorrow!!

The CSA's various timing equipment is spread out among many people right now. I want to get all of it back so I can do some maintenance this winter.
New tape strips, wire, connectors, etc.
I know I ended up missing a reel of wire after the Hood River race.

Mr. Janda, We're hoping you can attend this Sunday's event in Salem,OR. It promises to be 'Big and Fast', just how you like it! Knowing that you are a man of many disciplines, this may conflict with other skateboarding plans. Please note that your presence at this event highlights the continued support of our local slalom scene. There are MANY other places to skate that day. Only one is having a slalom race and a BBQ... Perhaps others will join me in encouraging your return.

Just a heads up:
I-5 Weekend Closure At Salmon Creek
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Interstate 5 will be closed for construction in the Salmon Creek area from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. I-205 will be the main detour route.
The closure affects all lanes, both directions. It stretches from the I-205 junction to SR 500. Crews are finishing a road-widening project, so once it re-opens Monday morning, there will three lanes in each direction.
Meanwhile, drivers headed southbound on I-5 will be diverted to I-205. The NE 134th Street and NE 99th Street southbound on-ramps will also close.
Northbound motorists on I-5 will be diverted to I-205 northbound via SR 500. You can also get to I-205 by driving east on SR 14 right after you cross over the I-5 bridge. Many drivers coming from farther south might prefer to get onto I-205 where it intersects I-5 south of Portland, or via the Banfield Freeway (Highway 84) from central Portland.

I have actually been really looking forward to the Big N Fast on Sunday and now I just got invited to go to my favorite skatepark in Astoria on Sunday. I am torn at what to do. I like cake and pie and I really want a slice of each but realize I can only have a slice of one or the other. I am long over do in hooking a session with my slalom friends and have been looking forward to hanging out and skating with you guys so If I do not make it Sunday lets squeeze one more event in before the end of October. I have totally been out of the loop this year but am always stoked to see you guys are keeping the scene alive around here.
