Hmmm, if I did'nt know better, I'd say I was putting on that "event" by Pat's description of the "event" details. Have fun everyone, I'll be radiating people all weekend then having my next two days off spent painting the outside of the house, it'll be a lot of fun. Are sure you guys don't want to come down to Corvallis and paint my house on Saterday and Sunday instead? I think you'll get more out of painting than you'll get out of that silly hill.

Saturday, Aug 11th Salem Impromptu Race

Impromptu "race" (more like a glorified practice session) at Salem Soap Box Derby hill.
Saturday Aug 11th Approx 10:00AM to 3pm or so, give or take a couple hours
Bring your own cones, you never know who will forget something.
Seattle and PDX timing systems should be brought, whoever actually remembers should set up the timing system.
We should not be counting cones for this "race". Let's do a YES/NO for cones hit. If you hit a cone, that time won't count. No need for coneheads. Racers coming up the hill will simply re-set the course.
Maybe two courses throughout the day. One course I'd like to be very difficult and technical. The other course more open/speed/flowing. Don't care who sets them. This is just a desire, not a mandate.
Get the word out.
No permit, no insurance, no signup -- Racing is not guaranteed.

I work every weekend through and including Aug 19th, and at this point the Seattle Combo Plate III is "iffy" for me as well due to things not getting done on all those weekends I'll have worked, but plan what and when you want because lately I'm a toad. - P

I will be down for any race, any time.
We are having a garage sale on the 12th, so the 11th will work for me.
I say we have a race on Tabor the 18th in honor of Malcolm turning 21. A 21 cone Death race!!!
Then we can rage with him at Mary's Club and do the PUSHER the next morning.
Anyone in?

August 11 or 12 -- Salem race?

How about a local short-notice race Aug 11 or 12 in Salem? Anyone up for that?
I will do timing and junk. Maybe Paul can set course.
If we hold it, will they come?
Preference on date? Aug 11 or 12?
Preference on course? Single-lane GS or hybrid dual?
It will be an outlaw, no fee, no fuss, gathering.
Comments?
