Ok If you work in Santana mall i am sorry, but non the less there are hills nearby!!! Go straight down Stevens creek East until you hit the foothills (buy the way there are all sorts of roads in fremont) ( try going 280 to 680 to alum rock it's faster.) Look for a road called Sunset steep steep road. Look on a map for exact directions, that should get you there. If you have a chance and you take Drugs or not we will be riding some were in San Jose soon. We will not be taking drug test, but we will test your drugs. Be safe and sane MJ

Hey, New longboarder here.. I just got my insect cutaway 2 weeks ago, I'm from Union City where I don't think any hills exist, but I work in San Jose on Stevens Creek Blvd, by Santana Row. Anyone know any spots around there?

No drug tests. However, if Sully shows we will have him pee in a cup and do a pregnancy test-- just for fun. We know he's at least pregnant with fanciful ideas -- including an elderly Nancy R. doing doubles with him in the Upland combi bowl. I heard Nancy gave up roller blading at 70 years old after getting hurt doing backwards slalom on one foot!

....wow, are drug tests manditory, I hope so cuz I gotta go with all the beer I've been drinking?! I hear Nancy Reagan will be doing a demo @ 4:20.
Good to hear you all are keepin' it real with the sessions around the bay - perhaps I can get out and burn up some wheels(and rope) with you all soon

Sean: Yes, anyone is welcome as long as they are not under the influence of any drugs or too much alcohol! (don't want people falling all over the road). Pads and helmet are definitely encouraged.
Women are encouraged to skate too-- Cat was doing well at the Sept. 3rd session and she would like to see other women get into slalom.
Nat: I will email some folks that skate in San Jose on Saturdays and use a timer. Maybe someone will bring a timer to SF on Sunday.

For the Golden Gate Park SF slalom session Sept. 3rd starting at 1:30 pm, we plan on setting up both a tight and a hybrid course. Hope to see some new folks and old friends there! Anyone coming from East Bay to SF, you will be able to use the Bay Bridge to get to SF. But the East-bound direction of the bridge is closed all weekend, so going back from SF to East Bay you will need to use another bridge (or combo of Golden Gate to San Rafael-Richmond Bridge).
See original post lower on this page for more on slalom session spot and good parking place...

GGP was awesome on Sunday! Thanks to Rich for orchestrating the whole thing. It was great meeting everyone-- can't wait to do it again! As a matter of fact, I'm buying some cones today so watch out! Also thanks to all the guys for jabbering the entire time with eachother-- I slipped in ahead of everyone and got at least 4 runs to their every 1 !! After skating nothing but steep mountain roads since 1975, I am having the time of my life running cones!
P.S. It still amazes me why so many people have yet to discover slalom racing, (spectators & participants) OR just refuse to embrace it for one reason or another. EVERY single person who walked by our course was in awe of all the skateboarders who were running cones. They took pictures, hooted & hollered, clapped, and congratulated us on every run! What am I missing here????

Yeah, GGP today was a lot of fun. I posted some of the BASA thread stuff on Silverfish and have gotten some interest from those people. I wanna try and get a hills session together soon. Who's up for Tunnel Rd. next saturday? I won't have a car so I will need a ride but I have a bunch of boards that I can loan out to any who need them -Julien

Thx to Rich Sayers for putting on today's GGP (golden gate park) slalom practice.
Good meeting Cat, Julien, and Nat (French rider who started RiderZ forum!)
Note to self, when test riding demo boards at the Skunk, watch for those wide trucks that stick out...
