Ryan, sounds like we're going to need to get together when that hand of yours stops slacking off! I know how hard it is to get to know the longboarders around here, trust me. Don't worry though, I promise not to have too much fun 'till you can get back on a skateboard.
Bert, I don't know what you're implying as far as a ride... Car or board? If you need a board to use, you can use my Sector 9 Pintail, no problem.
Okay then, can everybody tell me what the best time for them to do this will be? If I know that, then we can all work together to find out what the best time for ALL OF US will be. Once again though, I would prefer to ride the Concourse at about 1 am, just let me know what day would be best for you is all.
Brent.

HR, i have no idea what time. just a commitment to being there. its a long way and i'm trying to get out of driving. there's a chance i may be able to catch a ride in a local longboard manufacturer's team van. if thats the case, i'll be at thier disposal in regards to times coming & going.
as far as Templin goes, its all on you HR. Set a date that works, get a commitment from guys like Roger, DT and the rest of our traveling crew and the peer pressure will be too much for me not to show. I'm trying to do the same thing with an event down here in SD.

REVERE PHOTO'S HERE.
KENTER'S BEAT TO SHIT AND THE CORNER OF THE PLAYGROUND IS NOW COMPLETELY UNSKATABLE. BRENTWOOD ELEMENTARY HAS NO BANKS ANYMORE AND BELLAGIO HAS PARKING BLOCKS ON THE BANKS.
THE HIGHLANDS BOWL IS THE ONLY OTHER DECENT SKATE SPOT IN THE AREA BESIDES REVERE. I'LL BE THERE EARLIER IN THE DAY AROUND 10 AM OR SO WITH ED ISAACS AND MOST LIKELY MARLON. ANYONE ELSE WANNA GO? EMAIL ME.

REVERE'S NEVER BEEN A BUST. OLSON RIPS THE PLACE UP. NO KOOKS ALLOWED. THAT'S AN UNWRITTEN RULE. JUST WATCH OUT FOR THE CARS THAT THE B-BALL PLAYERS DRIVE. THEY PLAY IN THE GYM. SOMEONE BRING AN INDUSTRIAL SIZE BROOM. TONS OF PEBBLES THERE. ENTER EITHER AT MANDEVILLE CANYON AND SUNSET OR IF THAT'S LOCKED, TURN ON ALLENFORD AND ENTER THE DRIVE WAY AT THE WEST SIDE OF THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.

I was thinking 1:00pm to 2:00pm figuring starting some video at 2:30 or so. Don't want everyone to burnout and want to pick up some of that nice afternoon light at 4:30-5:30.
All you manufactures, feel free to bring your wares. This would be a good place to let people test drive your gear.
WARNING:Revere is posted "no skateboarding" to skate at your own risk. I've yet to hear of it getting shut down but who knows. If we get shut down there, we can move on to Kenter, Brentwood or Belagio.
See all on Saturday. It should be fun.

Hey Ryan, I was just down in La Jolla last week - shot an ad for G&S ( look for it in int. longboarder mag). Met with Kevin, Eric Gordon,Larry & Debbie Gordon, little fella named wes (who styled those G&S longboards beautifully) and ha d a blasting day! I love that place and will probably come down again again in the next few weeks. Let's hook up and take care of your hand.

Damn, three posts in one day, I guess I might be finally coming out of the woodwork, trying to keep up with the rest of the rampant posters here. Chesirepus, unfortunately my damn hand is broken with four pins in it, but I'm out of it in three weeks, and going to be skating like a madman from then on trying to get my skills up. I go to UCSD, live in La Jolla, and would definitely be down for a ride as soon as they yank those suckers out. Keep me in mind . . . it's good to know that there's some skaters around. They're all over here, but I don't KNOW any of em, and am always looking for people to ride with, learn new tricks (aka sliding) with, etc. Have fun without me, but not for long.

So, should I just assume that no one is really interested in putting together a ride down the Concourse? I'm definately going this week, but I'd like to share the fun with as many people as possible.

Brad,
A couple of weeks ago I tried to sell Marcus from IGSA on the idea of a Templin Hwy race (the portion near the old ridge road)... his response was that it was not a technical enough road.
Granted, compared to Barrett, it's a walk in the park... but I too think it would be a bitchen road to hold an event on. 3 miles long, 10% over all grade, speeds as fast as you want to go. Lots of opportunities to pass at speed. Mid 60's would be easily acheivable for good tuck guys and lugers. Slower guys can scrub speed pretty easily and keep the speed more reasonable.
It ends up down at a power plant so when I rode it last month (on a week day) the only vehicles I saw where the workers.
The guy I rode with (James), well his wife knows the wife of the guy who runs the plant... and they as a company are cool with guys using the road as long as we stay on our side of the yellow line and don't scare his drivers! Didn't see any rangers but did see a sign alerting of the need for the new parking sticker (adventure pass? any one know where to get one of these?)
If guys (and I know it's a loooong drive for the SD boys) ever want to get together for some runs, let me know, I would love to meet up... HR

Dump Slalom
Yesterday was a fun! I brought my leathers but never used them, was having too much fun with slalom. Big thanks to Gravity for loaning out the timing system! Glen was smooth through the offsets, leaving the rest of us trying to figure out how to catch up. After changing the course to straight 6' spacing (shadow of a power line provided a nice "straight" course), Marc immediately tore through the course and set a time to beat (lasted a while). Occasionally we took a break from the cones to carve down the hill or open a fresh cold beer. It was another good time.

enjoyed the "Dumpering", or the "Slobbering" as Dave stated, while downing a Nut Brown ale. Just got my 35mm slides back from Isgo(the photo lab). Some real nice shots of GlenS., Roger, Marc, and Dave. They are slides and I don't have a good slide scanner so I'll scan them on my crumby flatbed and email them off.

Definately a blast yesterday and my legs are shot today as well. Glen S, thanks for hooking up the timing system, that made for an interesting day. Dave, thanks for the props, Glen D, thanks for the photo, Roger, you kill it. Just for the record, Roger did 6" spacing (only hitting a couple cones) on a 42" Sean Mallard Duck Deck with Exkate 201's- I Saw It, but couldn't believe it. See you guys next week.

Hey guys, yesterdays slalom-fest at the Dump was real fun. My leg muscles hurt SO good.
Wanna prop up the fella's: GlenS for being fast and SMOOTH Marc for being fast and DETERMINED Roger for being fast and FASTER and blowing our minds by hustling his board that was 10" longer than anyone elses through the cones faster than anyone else. Go Roger!
Big ups to GlenS for hooking us up with a timing system, that made it so much better.

I'm pretty sure I know how to get to the Concourse, but like I said, I've never actually riden it, but am MORE than willing to organize the event none-the-less. You guys have my e-mail address, so let me know. I have also been advised by more than one person that 1 am would be the best time to ride. I'm available to ride any night this week. I live in the Bay Park area just across from Mission Bay, so you could possibly meet at my place, and then we could take one or two rides (depending on attendance) to the Concourse. Let's skate it up!!!

I haven't even been in San Diego for over a decade, but I can confirm that bombing The Concourse, in the wee hours of the morning, is a total blast. Of course, I was in such a state that I was almost equally thrilled by the humor and the experience of standing at the top of the center, tighter spiral, and peeing off the edge. I took no pictures of us skating there, but I've got a great, non-revealing shot of 80's era, Pennsylvanian pro, Dan "Booger" Brown peeing into the darkness.
