Barrett Junction
On 4/23/2001 Chris Chaput wrote in from (63.168.nnn.nnn)

Leo, IGSA and EDI and others give out their "tentative" schedules early in the year so that riders have an idea of what to expect. The bad news is that sometimes the schedule is changed and confusion results. The Spring Nationals at Barrett Junction on May 19th and 20th is the June 24th race, only rescheduled.

WLAC
On 4/23/2001 attila wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

Once again, a fun weekend at WLAC. Mike G, Roger, Marc, Ritchie C and slalom newcomer Damon showed up for a 7ft offset practice on the backroad. Roger, thanks for suggesting to leave the precious Hyper Stradas at home as the only wheel to ride this very course surface were power paws. Marc (longskate) was there to proudly observe and smile. This road just about shredded anything else. My feet are still sore from jumping off the board everytime at the end of the course- I have to learn how to slide at speed and stop. Marc, I can tell you are getting totally exited about slalom- your bankriding and carving style blend nicely with slalom- very flowy and smooth, fun to watch! ritchie you're a beast - get back to 360's! Sorry I couldn't join you guys at the Dump on Sunday- I was at the Dr Scholl's section at Savon most of the morning searching for relief. Maybe we schould have Dr Scholl's as one of our sponsors for Morro bay- Jack are you listening?

Utah
On 4/22/2001 Danny Connor wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

Kludy, You are breaking my heart!
I would LOVE to go to the race this weekend, but I am obligated to go to my Senior Prom. I know that it sounds rediculous but if it helps, I am in top 3 of the court! (chicks dig skaters) And also, my date would MURDER me if I ditched her and went to race. I will be at Barrett in May though. I will be there to race, and I will be one of the ones that you will HAVE to race, not just pass. You know that. Kludy, I'll call you and we can go ride the hill after Utah, and it will be fun. It just might not be safe for you to show me any more tricks! Just kidding. I wish everyone the best of luck in Utah, and my heart will be there, just not me. Have fun.

St. George race
On 4/21/2001 KLUDY wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

Hay Connor , you need to go to the race this next week in St. George . You need the racing time and only the bravest riders end up running this hill after they look at it and I feel after looking at the weather the winds (WILL) be happening !It would be fun to get a lot of riders there , for sure. Thanks Chris for the info.It just keeps getting better and better . Maybe I found that second job I was looking for, speedboarding ! What a great job if the big boys would like to play and help the riders along the way . This will be a great year for team T.V.S. and Rick KLudy , How cool is that. DREAMS DO COME TRUE ! This site as well help make things happen , keep it up guys .

Barrett, Morro, Seattle
On 4/21/2001 Chris Chaput wrote in from (63.168.nnn.nnn)

Both are set in stone. I'm committed to Morro Bay. IGSA is giving out National Points at Barrett (I know the website says Regional) but the World Cup points at the DHX, St. George, Hot Heels, IGSA World Cup and the Continental points in Scotland are more valubale. The accumulation of World Cup points in the IGSA will be the ONLY determining factor for entrance to the X-Games in 2002. I can't defend my speedboarding title at Barrett but I do get the chance to join several other SkateGeezers in Morro Bay for some long overdue slalom racing. It should be fun.

Check out SkateRelated.com for all the races.

Note the recent addition of Red Bull's Seattle Downhill on August 18th.

Barrett May 19 and 20
On 4/21/2001 Danny Connor wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

He guys,
Has anyone heard about the totally legit and for-real race that is goig on? I checked the site (IGSA) a day or two ago, and it looks like we're gonna be racing real soon! I could get used to racing this hill once a month or so. Plus, it's for valueable points. Anyhow, I hadn't seen any other posts aout it,so I thought I'd let you guys know, but just don't whine to me if it follows the pattern that the previous Barrett races have! Later.

revere's not a bust
On 4/20/2001 barleye wrote in from (24.130.nnn.nnn)

revere's not a bust. never has been never will be. unless they put parking blocks on the banks, people are gonna be skating there for years to come. i've been skating there since about 1980 or so and have NEVER seen any authority figures there.

just don't make it hard for cars to get out of there like you guys did last weekend. that's the ONLY way it will get busted up. I know those brentwood people...doctors, lawyers, money managers, etc. they all know the city council members. donating money to their election funds. if one of those brentwood soccer moms gets pissed off because she can't get her lexus 4x4 out of the playground, that's when it's gonna get all fucked up at revere. trust me, it can happen with that scenario. having sessions there once a month shouldn't be any problem. just be smart about where you set up the cones.

Revere was a blast, but for this weekend I'm looking for something with more slope to have both GS as well as tight slalom. My plans are to be at WLAC at around noon, but can always check out other locations later in the afternoon.

REVERE...again
On 4/20/2001 Glen wrote in from (216.102.nnn.nnn)

Michael Bream called up asking about doing it all again and proposed May 12th. I don't know if I can make it yet, pretty sure I can.
Is anyone else up to it?
San Diego....speak up!!!
I'm with Mike Gorman about not wanting to make Revere a too regular takeover thing, it could easily become a bust. It was closed down in the late 70's, I'd hate to see it happen again. Worse, I'd hate to see skate stops added to the banks like they did to Miller, Vermont Drop and the Toliet Bowl.

May 12th?
If you missed it last time, here's your chance to do it again.
