ok, so, when does anyone want to carve up the streets at night? manolo? clayton? misterbill? where is everyone/anyone? i'm busy for sure tonight, but what's up with everyone else the rest of this week? presidio sometime past nine or ten? doesn't the sunset district have some nice spots to skate as well? we were all talking about this at the park on sunday, so let's get going. not that i have a problem with slalom, and don already told me that i have no choice but to start running the course next week, but let's get some carve/bomb sessions going!

I am definitely in for the Cambria race. Got my needle nose Turner back from Aqua Tech for the second time and it's thick as a brick. Keep us posted on the race and any other practices you might be having, Jack. With enough advance notice, I will definitely be there.

I tried that ner do well Pumpkin last night. Slappy brought it and at first I was stunned at the camber. But far be it for me to be intimidated by a lowely little stick with back problems. It was weird man. I tried to slide it and it bucked me like a wild stallion! I'll be passing on the Pumpkin in the forseeable future.

Cambria North/South Duel - Funtest
On 7/8/2001 Jack wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

Mike Maysey and I were out at the Cambria hill today and got to talking about holding an informal single lane slalom race at the Cambria hill in late August or early September. Would be similar to the old La Costa Sunday races.
Any interest?

Great event today! This one continues to grow and will soon be the cone-runner's Mecca in Norcal. Fat City Racing's timing system is very cool and allows multiple riders on the course at the same time. The Comet crew was in effect and their latest batch of prototypes got some very favorable commentary. There were easily 20 different decks on scene and everyone was sharing. Grinch was diggin my Pumpkin Superbow, and I was all over misterbill's Supaflex, as well as his G&S Lee Dansie in rocker mode. Don and Gary were the fast men on course, rippin the stinger sections to the limits of traction. Next time Comet is bringing their tent and BBQ, right guys! ;)

I'll be busy in the morning and show up sometime in the afternoon. I'll bring a digital camera since i cant skate. Does anyone have a single legged tripod (i'm not sure if they have a name) that they can bring out???

If anyone wants to, we can bbq at my house - its about 15 min away in Laguna Niguel - and is has a fun smooth road for carving inside, plus its gated so there wont be too much traffic.

Gaithersburg Park and Ride
On 7/7/2001 GBJ wrote in from (24.18.nnn.nnn)

Slappy is absolutely right, and one must read my directions very carefully to realize how specific they are. The park and ride IS right at the intersection of an I-270 exit, but it's the exit FROM I-270 SOUTH onto Rt. 124.

Park and Slalom helpful directions
On 7/7/2001 slappy wrote in from (207.172.nnn.nnn)

If you're a Virginian or DCer. Go north on 270 to exit 10 (There are signs on 270 for the Park and Ride) It's not immediately off the exit which can throw you off (at least it did me). Take a right on Quince Orchard and it's just past a hotel and car dealership with a giant flag on the right.
