Damn...I'd love to meet up with you guys and try my slalom skills, but since my 25mph+ crash the other night, I seem to be having a hard time putting weight on my leg. No fracture, so it should only be a couple of weeks. Please keep us NY/NJers posted as to any other get togethers that may be happening.

Mathew, I'm glad you had so much fun. So did I! Skating four classic roads with a group of sixteen was a thrill.
Mathew represented Santa Cruz. From Clayton Valley, CA there was Sam, Scott and Dave. HC came from San Francisco and so did Andrew. I hope I got that name right? My friends from the East Bay were Jim Cluggish, Noel McComas, Chris Gilmartin, John Schroeder, Gabe, myself and two very fast youngsters, Patrick and JM. These two are planning to race amature and hope to make it to Seattle. If not they will race next season. By the way, they are undefeated on their home turf. They have had visits from the Flying Hawiian, Eli Smouse, Manu Antuna and Dave Kelly who's from Australia. Manu and Dave Kelly were at the session Saturday also. Ask any of these pros about the two kids or the hills we were riding, it was spectacular. I keep trying to remember the other skater but I can't, sorry.
We finished the day at the Comet party. The day was long, it was my first real day of skating since breaking my arm and at the end of the night I was beat. Can't wait to do it again.

Hi Cliff-
I just wanted say THANK YOU, for such a great ride, with such a great group of riders! Saturday was the best day, on the best hills, with the best riders, and the friendliest folks, and the safest protocols, ever, period. I will never forget that day. I am inspired to ride more, and especially to learn to slide much better, to get good enough at sliding so I can confidently cruise those hills again and [try to] keep up with you. So please let me know (or post on NCDSA) when you might be around Berkley again, so we can do it again! In the mean time, I'll be scouting the good hills in Santa Cruz, and when you make down here we'll do a tour. So thanks again for a superb Saturday afternoon. Your warmth will not be forgotten.

I'll be there, looking forward to meeting you guys, knuckleheads and otherwise. I may not race sat nite, my slalom skills really blow, Chaput doesn't need the $20, and my brother has a saturday night gig in Baltimore. The Zoo course should be real nice for the downhill race, I was just there last time in town, its a pretty good drop.
