I commend Arab's position. We have very few available venues, and we must respect those that are provided us.

On 9/13/2001 Attila wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

I don't want to drag this out any longer; WE WILL BE MEETING AT WLAC AT 2PM ON SUNDAY.

ANybody who plans on showing please let know. Martin, MDP, Mike G, Howard G/Dylan have already commited. Although Henry has given us his blessing to LA costa some feel that it is not worth the risk in light of the upcoming race there; no more changes, please!!!

Arab, I'll hope to see you there (even though it is not an official race)

WLAC - this SUNDAY - 14:00 - 2 courses - timer!!!

I will go where ever the action is. essentially, they are both great, do 2 or 3 runs to determine which wheels work best for the surface and it's on! No big deal, where we don't skate this weekend we can go to next. One thing i will say is nice surfaces are better (in my opinion) for tight slalom. I'm sure most of the guys will be into GS although some including myself could care less whether we set up for tight or Giant.
Keep me posted fellas, I'm itching to ride

WLACOSTA
On 9/13/2001 attila wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

I am ok either way but considering that there is a driving distance of almost 150 miles ebwteen the two spots we should all agree on one spot soon. AOL also doesn't let me email in bulk (against their regulations) so I will not be sending out 50 individual emails every time there is a change or a new concern)

Caution and common sense are obviously a must where ever we go and that applies to WLAC as well as this is one of our few northern LA skating spots. Before I post any more changes, MArc, arab, Roger, Mik G, Howard, Ritchie and the rest of the SSS crew and who ever else please get in touch with me so that I can post a clear location by tomorrow. I hate to see this whole thing get territorial- lets move on and have fun!

WLAC / LA COSTA / 2pm
On 9/13/2001 Attila wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

We'll have to give MArtin something to rememeber before he leaves for Europe so this weekend's session will be most likely at LA COSTA at 2pm. DAve, please post directions. Everybody who has emailed me (about WLAC) please confirm that you're cool with that. LC is about a 2 hr drive from LA -some of us will car pool. I have room for 2 people in my car.

WLAC directions
On 9/12/2001 Attila wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

West LA College is located in Culver City near the 405 and 10 freeways, just southeast of Jefferson and Overland, at 4800 Freshman Drive. This time we'll skate on Sophomore Drive behind West LA College, which is closed to traffic on Sundays. To get there, take Freshman Drive to the right turn, and then up the hill, where the name changes to Sophomore Drive. We'll be past the "do not enter" sign.

the texture of the road is fairly even but not too smooth- 78a wheels are a good choice- the hill is moderately fast (25-30mph) at a giant setup. We'll have a tight course setup as well. There's usually a security guy driving around so be nice and keep it low key- he's usually cool with the scene. Bring your pads, drinks, food and a digital camera!

Barrett practice
On 9/12/2001 Danny Connor wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

Sorry Hugh!
I ahd to put up the "no luges"!!! I have seen too many times that a luger took out a stand up rider on accident, but it still happened. Shoot, I luge, so I am not bagging on them, I am just saying this is stand up practice. If you want to bring your luge, go for it. I just dont want there to be 50 of them out there. Plus, my Dad had voulentered to cart us up and down the hill so luges would take up time and room. If you want to come with your luge, I will be happy to have you there. It's everyone's hill. We just wont be on luges, so you'd be solo. I am sorry if I offened you Hugh. Eventhough you have a few years on me, I still think you are way cool, and you can come have fun with us. You just have to sweep the hill for us first! Just kidding. Later.

My ride
On 9/11/2001 Danny Connor wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

Hey Fellas,
Well, I just read Kludy's post, so I guess I'll let you guys know what's up. Sunday, Sepember 23, Kludy, me, and Gary Hardwick (some TVS all stars!) were gonna hit up Barrett to get some training in for the October race. Maybe Jimmy Flindt too. We want to run the hill as many times as we can, and we will be running it VERY fast. I'd like to say that everyone is welcome, but we wont have time to show newbies the ropes. So if you think you can keep up, we'll be there all dy of the 23rd. NO LUGES!!! Please contact me if you want to join. Later.

POTRERO HILL IN SF - WED
On 9/10/2001 MIKE@FLOWLAB wrote in from (172.180.nnn.nnn)

I know it's short notice, but we'll be riding in Potrero Hill this Wednesday afternoon and everyone is welcome to join us. bring your flowlab, freebord, carveboard, shortboard, longboard - WHATEVER board and come ride some hills with us.

Probably start at the little blue water tower near the fire station at the top of Wisconsin Street. then we can hit the sidewalk run later at Pennsylvania street. then take it from there. If you're interested, post back here, send us an e-mail (info@flowlab.com) or just show up.

Hope to see some of you there.
