Hey All,

I've been tooling around on a REAL WOOD Long Board for the last couple of years and would really like to get involved in the whole slalom scene. I'm in Fresno, Ca., and I'm looking for places to practice/learn and if there are any races you would recommend for the novice. Any info would greatly help the newbie!

The first race at West LA College in a year featured warm and sunny weather and heated competition in the skateboard races. In the skates and gates slalom on the big hill, Steve Olsen's time on the first run was fast enough to win the race, but he went ahead and improved it on the second run. In the tight slalom, Attila Aszodi clocked the fastest time (not counting penalties), but after adding penalties Richy Carrasco was fastest by 0.03. Richy also took the combined title.

Skates and Gates Slalom (best of 2 runs):

weeknight slalom +
On 11/18/2001 Clayton wrote in from (130.212.nnn.nnn)

weeknight slalom sounds good and yes I am proud owner of 50 cones ;) . Tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday would be perfect. There are at least two parking lots in the Presidio that would work. Maybe we can do slalom and some downhill.

anyway, send me an e-mail or give me a call,

see you,

Clayton

Bring your board and your broad! We are a non-profit, non-competitive loose unit of friends, bought together by a mutual love of longboarding and networking….

Trains run ½ hourly from Victoria Rail Station. Zone 4 Travel Card needed. Exit Crystal Palace Station, turn right, walk 50 feet and you are in the park. Head uphill and veer right towards the top ponds.

If its raining, we hit Meanwhile 2 Sausage Bowl under the Westway…..
Royal Oak Tube – exit station, cross road, turn right then left for 1 min. Keep under the Westway and veer left. Seek and ye shall find!

Yea, I feel lucky. Just did gmr two days in a row, bottom, top, ridge, back, the whole thing. Two days of sliding through corners and not falling once. We got rides on motorcycles, road crew, and some very cute (too) young girls. I kid you not, they can back the next day for more rides up the hill, niiiice.

DT,
Count me in. I'll be ready for a good dump after eating at that mexican food place! For target practice I can pitch small rocks off the corner of my wheels to hit targets on the side of the road. It all makes sense to me!
