DT,

Dec 16th is also the WLAC race- many of the longboarders are expected to show up there for the Giant Slalom- you might want to consider doing your thing the day before.

Skate & Shoot 12 / 16
On 12/3/2001 DT wrote in from (192.189.nnn.nnn)

Dec 16th will be the date of the skate & shoot, bring your carve boards, speed boards, park boards, and guns (they'll be guns to rent at the shooting range).

We'll meet at the dump in the morning, grind some good ol' food, hit the range, skate some bowls, and if any of you can still hang we'll be taking on some parking garages.

I'll post directions later.

Plunger was wet today, I don't get it, dry all week, wet on the weekends.
Snakepit was a good session, a bit muddy for some of us, but good.

West LA College
On 12/1/2001 Scott Peer wrote in from (198.81.nnn.nnn)

Sunday December 16 features IGSA regional races for gravity bike, street luge, and classic luge (buttboard). Also, there will be a giant slalom race on D Street with separate classes for skateboards and inline skates. The giant slalom course will be set in an open style allowing fast riding. There will also be slalom practice.

Dec. 16 Schedule:
9:00 Setup
10:00 Registration and practice starts
12:00 Giant slalom race
1:00 Classic luge (buttboard) race
1:30 Street luge race
2:00 Gravity bike races
3:00 Awards ceremony

We're starting to plan the 2002 season, now that permits and insurance are all worked out. Please help us shape the calendar! More slalom? Giant slalom? Faster courses? Easier? Ideas for sponsors? IGSA points for slalom? All inputs are welcome.

West LA College is located in Culver City near the 405 and 10 freeways, 2 signals southeast of Jefferson and Overland, at 4800 Freshman Drive. Enter through the first open gate (A Street) into campus. There's a big parking lot for warming up, a gentle hill for beginners and tight slalom, the main slalom hill (up to 10 percent grade), and the luge and bike hill (C Street, over 10 percent grade, steep!).

Clayton,
Must have missed you - I arrived around 2pm. Next time we ride at GGP - we will need a big workshop broom to sweep up the course - lots of twigs, debris, flora and fauna left by the big storm that swept through SF (and spared La Costa). Can someone grab one for next weekend?

Question:
why did Chris Chaput leave before the tight slalom?
maybe because he couldnt make the last six cones?
why not change the course?
why not NOT call it tight slalom?
CHALLENGE:
100 cones five foot intervals
THAT is tight slalom..
time to practice for your mountain dew sponsorship
