Mitch, maybe the rules this weekend should be if you criddle 5 or more cones you go to jail.

I think there is a backway into the park. There are dirt roads between the closed Lorton prison and the dump that lead into the park.
I'll check it out this week.

DC Sunday
On 1/22/2002 WesE wrote in from (207.172.nnn.nnn)

I'm looking forward to Sunday, BUT I think we should park somewhere other than at the gate, due to the potential suspition that 7 or more vehicles parked there might bring. Maybe Slappy can suggest an alternative place to park.

starlight bowl

Mike G, when will you announce the Starlight bowl outlaw race?

This road is the bomm' for super wide GS, every turn is a slider or you're out at the next gate. This could be one of the gnarliest (and potentially) fastest races of the year.

Maverick at Starlight !!!

Leo, we would love to have you come and race with us in the DC area. The weather is a big issue this time of year but the 23rd date is still on. If you need percise directions. You can email me or keep checking www.eastcoastslaom.com. I will keep it updated with schedule changes and directions. If you are in the states and want to race, if the weather is good there is usually always a session in the DC area.

Mitch T's Sunday Slalom Races
On 1/14/2002 Mitch T wrote in from (4.3.nnn.nnn)

Have timing system will race. The first race will be this Sunday January 20th at Great Seneca Park in Gaithersburg, MD at the Cardinal picnic area. Setup and practice 2-3pm race at 3:00pm. Format single lane slalom, unlimitted push start from a start line about 15 yards from first cone. Best 2 run combined time(run 1 + run 2) wins. If there are over 30 racers only the top 30 in the first run will get a second run. Racer's second run in reverse order of first run finish. This will be a 50 cone, around 20 second, race. Cardinal picnic area is closed to cars, park near the entrance to park and walk through the woods or at the recycled tire playground and skate over.
Future races will be on every Sunday, times and location tbd. On weekends of DC winter slalom series, we'll start the sunday race early to accomodate out of towners visiting for the weekend.
I am open to suggestion on venues and volunteers to set courses, help with results etc.
There will be a $5 suggested donation, to cover timing system cost. Children are free. Pros can setup a side pot.
