Did you have a chance to ride the T-board in GGP this week? Can you post your review of it in the Completes Forum. I'd be very interested in hearing them.
Thanks, Mark

Dillon has a board, a Comet race wide proto. I know, cuz I sold it to him. So, lend the brother some wheels and trucks, and force him to put it together!

John Dillon, If you’re reading this, the race is on Mapquest at 16th street and Aspen drive, Washington DC 20012. Between the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Beach Drive (Am I correct, Mitch?).
LBK, if you can get in touch with John at his sister's in Maryland, tell him that the race is at Sherrill Drive in DC, NOT the one in Bethesda.

Much appreciation to Wes E. and John Dillon for showing up to support me at Saturday’s Arlington, VA Skatepark meeting.
Well I’m off to work again so I will not be at the DC Sunday Session and instead I’ll be looking like a square. Anyway, Wes said he would take my spot as the fastest one the hill. BTW, John Dillon said he will come on out. Lend the brother a board.
I'll be back later (Brian P. had better be practicing up).

Unless a local skate shop will put on a demo you might try to contact a manufacturer through a skate mag. Demos range around $300 for pros to skate your set-up. At least they were 300 a few years ago. Good luck!

23/24th February (3 weeks away!)
Times now finalised : Formal comp starts at 7pm on the 23rd (saturday), but feel free to turn up way earlier for practice! We'll be there from about 4pm.
Standard skatepark entrance fees apply (£2 for 1st hour, £1 per hour from then on, or thereabouts...) plus £5 entry fee for the comp/ timed training.
Prizes to be supplied by: Turner Downhill Urbanboards, London Lush Longboards, Sheffield plus many more mystery prize donors...
Sunday's activities will be weather dependent, so bring your longboards, shortboards and snowboards! The House Skatepark will be open as usual on Sunday, and we may run a more casual slalom there if it's wet outside.

Due to Super Bowl Sunday, there will be no race this Sunday. The next DC Sunday Slalom Race will be on February 10th at Sherrill Drive, in Northwest Washington DC. Mapquest 16th street at Aspen Drive, Washington, DC 20012 in order to find it. Practice and setup at 11:00 am race at 1:00pm. Format single lane GS and or Super GS, unlimitted push start from a start line about 15 yards from first cone. Best 2 run combined time(run 1 + run 2) wins. If there are over 30 racers only the top 30 in the first run will get a second run. Racer's second run, in reverse order of first run finish. $5 suggested donation, to cover timing system cost. Children are free. Pros can setup a side pot.

DC Outlaw Race Forecast (winds dying off & sunny)

Ok, here is my surfer meteorologist explanation of today’s DC Outlaw race conditions:
Late yesterday a cold front pushed through the Washington DC area and the resulting pressure gradient made for some gusty winds last night and some cold temperatures this morning. But as the low system has moved away from the coast and out to sea, the winds have died off. All that wind last night knocked over some construction fences in the city but likely dried off Fountainhead Park. It will be a bit chilly today but sunny though you will comfortable running cones unless you are a Floridiot (I can say that because I just moved up to DC a few years ago from Flatorida).

PS Bring a broom to sweep away the leaves.

In case you missed it on the slalom page:
Just got off the phone with Brian P. and it is a go for the DC Outlaw Race tomorrow. The forecast is partly sunny with highs 40 to 45 and northwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Don’t let the forecast keep you from driving on out. The location is protected from the wind by trees and it will be warm. Brian said that he checked the spot out today and it had some wet spots but it should be dry well before race time.
I shouldn’t spill the beans but Brian will be awarding points for each race. I’ll let Brian explain the rules on it but it will make the whole series that much more fun.
As for tomorrow, Brian is going to try to get to the location early to set up (about 10:45 am or earlier). Remember this is a GRASS thing so he could use all the help he can get. Bring any cones you got. Bring chalk. Bring a broom. Bring the wife, kids and bring grandma.
BTW, the DC regulars will be there along with new old guy Curt Kimbel, Eric Moore from VA Tech and maybe even “breaking the law” ur13. It should be fun until I run the cones faster than the rest of you blokes.

2nd race of the DC Winter Outlaw Slalom Series.
This Saturday February 2nd and Fountianhead Regional Park.
Go to www.eastcoastslalom.com for details.
Directions to Fountianhead -
Take I95 (North or South) to exit #160 (Occoquan) Rt 123. Go North on Rt. 123 approximately 3 miles. You will see a sign on Rt. 123 for Fountianhead Regional Park) Turn Left onto Hampton Rd. (could also be names Hampton Station CT.) Follow signs to Park entrance. Park at the gate. We will be set up about 100 yrds into the park.
The forecast is calling for rain on Thursday. I will go and make sure the hill is dry Friday evening. Please keep checking the Events forum of NCDSA.com for last minute location changes. I have a backup location that is nearby if the hill at Fountianhead is not dry. There is a Park and Ride lot that is off of exit #160 in Occoquan.
