Oh well. I think I'm gonna go check out the weather at Fountainhead today. I won't be posting about, since there aren't any phone jacks there. It should be much less windy though.

I mean, the attendent there today might know tomorrow's status of it exactly.

Thanks Bobo. There is also the possibility that they don't open the park ("open the park"...damm!) at all on Monday due to the holliday. The attendent ("attendent"...damm!) there might be able to tell you the exact status for it tomorrow.

It stopped snowing in Manassas sometime before 11am and at 11:11 the pavement is nearing a state of dryness. What up Mitch?

Perhaps BoBo, Tim Abbott, or another Baltimorian could go to Lansdowne Sunday and ask the attendant what hours it will be open Monday.

Banked Slalom @ Landsdowne Skatepark on Monday (President's Day)

I hear the Washington DC Slalom guys are thinking about going to Landsdowne Skatepark on Monday (President's Day) about 10 am. I hope it is open on Monday. I've got to work so I will not be there. The DC Slalom Skateboarders plan to do some banked slalom at the park. Alan Chaney had spray painted some banked slalom cone markings there a few years ago so look for them. The course should start up top on the straight section that looks like a tight ditch. The course then has a cone near the far lip on the corner and then next on the big wall. In order to finish the course, cones should lead into the bowl or can be sent into the lower section (it is the part with the moguls). Experiment some and have fun. Make sure you guys have a bunch of duct tape for the cones. I bet Mitch's timing system would be good to use there but keep a close eye on it both in and out of the car. Also grab a broom for glass, rocks and dirt. By the way, have your full pads with you because the park attendant requires them now.

I'll be there, ready to break Brian's string of victories over me. I've got a new park board if anybody's up for some Vans's action. Remember there's a race Sunday at Great Seneca.

a timer would be cool. i was just trying to keep it separate from the series and avoid any confusion. there's so much going on in the area lately i didn't want to dilute the DC Series.

I think there are more cones run in DC than any other place in the world. I will be there. Since there has been no rain the course Tway set should still be marked.
I will bring my timer just in case you want to have friendly competition. I need another chance to beat LBK's time.

Have timing system will race. The next race will be this Sunday February 17th at Great Seneca Park in Gaithersburg, MD at the Cardinal picnic area. Setup and practice 11-1pm race at 1:00pm. Format single lane slalom, unlimitted push start from a start line about 15 yards from first cone. Best 2 run combined time(run 1 + run 2) wins. If there are over 30 racers only the top 30 in the first run will get a second run. Racer's second run in reverse order of first run finish. This will be a 50 cone, around 20 second, race. Cardinal picnic area is closed to cars, park near the entrance to park and walk through the woods or park at the recycled tire playground and skate over. There will be a $5 suggested donation, to cover timing system cost. Children are free. Pros can setup a side pot.
