I am in Athens GA. Dr. Dave Hartman is the chicago helmet article writer. I was the crash test dumbass. I can see it now, "hey honey, this guy Psycho Lloyd is gonna come over for dinner..." I grew up in south FL, so I know all about the flats. see my old pics/adventures at www.patiomendino.com

You're in the chicago-land area, aren't you? I read your bit about helmets, too. I think we've exchanged e-mails once or twice, but I don't have you in my address book.
You should hook up with us sometime, we skate at Oak St. Beach, up in Libertyville (at my place) or out at the Arboretum near Downers Grove/Lisle mostly.
It's funny about your wife being afraid Brady will kill you and dump you in the everglades. The first time I skated with SteveM and Psycholloyd, I actually invited them to my house, sight unseen. My wife about flipped! "You're asking people you met on the internet to our house!?" she said!
Brady's a lot of fun, but you do need to get a good pump going down there, pretty flat!

heh heh, that was an on purpose typo...although I often say that. "shaloming"-peacefully going through the cones. I have never had a bad time meeting new oldschoolers around the country. almost every business/training trip I've taken, I've hit as many skateparks as possible. sites like this are great to meet folks, then go ride with them. I just hope Scabs won't kill me and dump me in the everglades. (my wife thinks this will happen to me).... P's out

Hey, P@tio. You had a funny typo in your initial message on wheels forum, and my politically incorrect self must comment. Hopefully you and everyone else will see the humor in it.
You said "I have to find some flats so I can work on my shaloming technique" or something like that. I remember Brady saying something he heard from his Rabbi, so I figure he is Jewish, so the whole thing struck me as funny. Never hurts to have good shaloming technique in South Florida!
Brady is a fun guy to skate with. He showed me a good session when I was in Miami a couple months back. You dudes have fun!

Have timing system will race. The next race will be this Sunday March 3rd at Occoquan Park in Northern Virginia. Setup and practice @ 11:00AM race @ 1:00 pm. Park at the top of the park and walk/skate down to the race site. Format single lane slalom and or GS and or Super GS, unlimitted push start from a start line about 15 yards from first cone. Best 2 run combined time(run 1 + run 2) wins. If there are over 30 racers only the top 30 in the first run will get a second run. Racer's second run, in reverse order of first run finish. I SAW THESE BOARDS IN SALT LAKE THIS PAST WEEK WITH ALL THESE WHEELS ON IT. LIKE 14, OR 16 OF THEM. ABOUT 6 GUYS WERE RIDING DOWN MAIN STREET THROUGH THICK FOOT TRAFFIC WITH THE SMOOTHEST TURNS I HAVE EVER SEEN ON PAVEMENT. THE ROAD HAD A NICE GRADE TO IT, AND I'M SURE A REGULAR SKATE COULD NOT CARVE DOWN THE STREET LIKE THIS BOARD I SAW. WHO KNOWS MORE ABOUT THIS BOARD? SOMETHING LIKE FLOWRIDES IS THE NAME I BELIEVE.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY RESPONSES.

I'll try to make that one too Mitch. Gotta use my time wisely these days. I have all my time divvied out for the spring and summer races though. This winter thing is not my style exactly.
This coming from a New Englander too.
