DC Outlaw Race #4
On 3/29/2002 Brian P wrote in from (216.168.nnn.nnn)

The outlook for tomorrow has improved. So the #4 race is a go. The course will be set by 11am, and we will start racing at 12pm. The course will be set at a intermediate level to "cruise easy and race hard". Since this is at the park and ride we will run a dual hybrid format and use a 20ft push start into the course. As always I will have extra pads and boards. If anyone would like to help me set the courses I will be on the hill at 9:30-10am. I expect that it will be windy so if anyone has any extra cones please bring them. Drop me a line if you need directions or call me on my cell#703-901-5167 if you get lost or need a weather update.

See you tomorrow.

GRS MS Slalom Race
On 3/27/2002 Ricky wrote in from (12.39.nnn.nnn)

GRS Mississippi Chapter is hosting their first slalom race of the season on Sunday, April 21st. The race will be run on Concourse Drive which is a freshly paved deadend street with a slight grade. The course will be a hybrid type. We will run timed quals with head to head duels. It should be a fun and educational day of racing for the new racers and the new race organizers.

I'd like to thank our sponsors, Turner Downhill, Pleasure Tool Bearings, ParkX Skatepark, Chane/Swell Sk8 Skateshop for there help.

After witnessing the advantages of the speed suits, we all wore wetsuits in the race. It wasn't comfortable, but it was considerably faster.

Outlaw #4
On 3/22/2002 Brian P wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

Since a few racers are going to be in San Fran tomorrow was not a good make up date. I suggest that the #4 race be made up on Saturday the 30th and then keep the FINALS on April 6th. These dates seem to work out for the majority of the racers. Mike I will not be able to ride tomorrow however I do plan on riding somewhere on Sunday.

Dan sorry for the mixup.

The weather is looking bad for our race tomorrow. The chance of rain has increased to 50%. I know that a few guys are still planning on being in the area. So if it is dry tomorrow then the race in on. If we get rained out then we will still try to have a race on Sunday (at the Park and Ride) however it will not count toward series points since this schedule change may prevent some of the points leaders from being able to make it. We will try to run the next series race next Saturday on the 23rd. Weather permitting

This was the only mention, I guess it was never definite. Anyway, I'll be checking posts throughout the day today.
Dan
