IGSA and Westwood Sports Club are pleased to announce the 2002 California Championship Series, with races starting May 5 at West LA College, and continuing through December. All races (including slalom this year) will count towards the IGSA world rankings, as well as being used to declare season champions. Each date will include several kinds of races, as well as practice for the sports that aren't racing.
May 5 (Cinco de Mayo!) will include street luge, pegless luge, classic luge (buttboard), gravity bike, inline downhill, and tight slalom races. All details (times, fees, etc.) will be available in about a week, and will be posted at the IGSA website and emailed out. If you're not already on my email list and would like to be, please email me and indicate the sports that interest you.

Wes, I'm going to Vans for most of the first session & maybe the second. It looks like rain the rest of the afternoon. Does Slappy got any garages we can set up cones in? Get in touch with me via Brian (he has my cel) or my home (to get my cel).

Walker Rd directions.
FFX county parkway to Beulah Rd. Go left at light. Walker is about 200 yards up on your left. When you are on the parkway just past Springfield mall you will see an INOVA Emergency Room Hospital on your left, Beulah is the next light.
The spot is the first parking lot entrance on the left. I runs along the trees.

I've gotten a late start today, so I will try to be at walker around 2. I'll leave my house at 1 if it appears dry. Please post or email me if a anyone can think a more appropriate spot (like if there's rain in the area, etc).

I'm definitely up for some riding, be it slalom practice if it's dry or garage-whatever if it's wet. I don't have any suggestions on what garages are good though.
RIP IT UP DELMARVA DUDES!

Work has got me all tied up and I'm missing out on Kona. John Dillon, Dave Mullin, Cabbage and other DELMARVA longboarders are out there. I know they are having a blast.
So do any of the other DC Crew want to ride? Let me know. I need to put some time in on my Turners but I think it is going to rain. How about some garage sessions? I'm willing to do some longboard cruising also.
PS, anyone interested in checking out Bob Mould at the 9:30 Club on Wednesday?

The Cascade Slalom Association will be hosting a regular slalom session every Sunday at North Seattle Community College in the SE parking lot starting at 2:00. Weather permitting.
Several different courses will be set as this area is big enough to run both a dual and a GS/hybrid course. The focus will be on having fun while racing through the cones!
I will bring the cones and enough slalom boards for everyone to try out. All you need to bring is your helmet and pads and a slalom board if you have one.
Please send me an e-mail if you want to be added to (or removed from) the regular notification e-mail list or need directions to the site.
I will also have slalom specific wheels (Abec 11, Comet, Hyper), trucks (Seismic, Tracker, Gullwing) and boards (RoeRacing) for sale at very reasonable prices.
While you are at it, check out RoeSlalom for the latest (and greatest!) slalom skateboards.
Please call me (Gareth Roe) at 206/371-9710 if you need directions or if you are unsure about the weather.
Bring a friend! See You at the Races!
