It's not Oakwood Rd. But it isn't flat. It's longer than Park & Ride. Good pavement. Not much of a bust factor. A great workout spot.

I am all for a Walker Lane session. But it looks like rain. Keep me posted if it is dry I will be there.
I am doing Vans Sunday night but if anyone wants to do slalom Sunday morning or midday. I am all for it.

I don't do shag, I don't do The Drifters, I don't do duck heads and I damned sure don't do Polo!!!
I come from a time when it was the shaggin' preppies on one side and the slam-dancin' punks on the other. Guess who I hung with?
Personally, Dave, I think we ought to organize a Joey Ramone Memorial Mosh Pit down on the dunes!
P.S. Drifters are cool. Most beach music bands are cool. It's just the clientele they attract sometimes that makes me wanna retch!

By the way WC Turcker, aren't you supposed to be organizing the "Shagging" dance contest for the Sat. night of the longboard slalom race?

You mean to tell me you're letting a kid in the way of riding? What's the wife doing? What's the big idea? Geez, that's why God invented papooses! Strap the baby on and go ride!
C'mon, Dave, WHERE'S YOUR PRIORITIES!
Next thing you know he's gonna tell us he couldn't buy new Seismics 'cause he had to pay for day care. Some people.

Landsdowne Contest

Mick,
Cabbage and myself have yet to get together on the Landsdowne contest idea. I got a 2 week old baby at home so I'm tied up for now. However, you can e-mail me about helping us getting things started for a contest (approvals, event insurance, etc.). More importantly we want to sit down with the govt. park & rec. people to talk about the status of the park. It needs to be returned to it's original status (open 7 days a week with no hassles from a skateguard). A contest might be a way of breaking the ice with the park & rec. people.
What would be easiest for me would be to hold a Banked Slalom Race at Landsdowne. We just held one at Vans last month and Alan Chaney held banked slalom race at Landsdowne a few summers ago. Not to mention, we have a kick ass timing system for a banked slalom race. I think Cabbage would like to do an expression session contest as well.
I would have to check my calendar but the earliest the contest could be done would be end of summer. But hey if we can get the ball rolling on this, we could pull it off and maybe make things right at Landsdowne.

July 18-21 is Julyfest in Kimberley B.C. Canada. Beer gardens and live music on Saturday night in the arena. The Honeymans will be playing and the beer is plenty!!!!
Race day will be on Sunday July 21'st. Cash and product for prizes. Bet on this being one hell of a party!
I plan to find some free camping for competators. Presumably all the motels will be booked solid unless you make reservations now.
More info to come as it is available.

Dave G, I would really like to show up for the Mountain State Slalom Skate, but I'm a little concerned about where the Mrs. and I are going to sleep and grab a hot shower. Tell us about the old schoolhouse. Are there any hotel rooms available at all? Campgrounds? Any info would be helpful.
Thanks, dude

David: which hills do you ride in the Presidio? We ride the hill that ends at 15th Ave and Lake pretty often throughout the week - great hill and not much traffic at that time.
