Well, 66, if I wanted to skate pools, I get rid of my Summer Skis and get a rock-wheeled Hasbro. As it is, I've never really spent any time checking out the available vert.
By the way, just for the record, I jus' luvs Jaw-Ja. Let's face it: if it wasn't for Waycross and Quitman, people would think we had the most backwater towns!
P.S. California thinks its got a lock on talkin' smack, but God help us all if the ACC and SEC ever start sponsoring slalom racing. There'd just be too much hell to pay around here to deal with it!

Mmmm... North Carolina - Outer Banks - The best surfing, windsurfing, and sportfishing on the East Coast.
South Carolina - Myrtle Beach - Old people, dinner theaters, and golf carts
North Carolina - Research Triangle - the largest research park in the United States, and is home to over 140 organizations. Recognized internationally as a center for cutting-edge research and development.
South Carolina - South of The Border - Pedro says, "Buy some fake plastic doggy doo!".
North Carolina - College Basketball - The four words are basically the same.
South Carolina - College Football - The Gators and Dawgs need to show off the underclassmen at some point in the season.
Finally... North Carolina - Corrosion of Conformity
South Carolina - HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH
I rest my case.

30" WB??? Dangit, I've been competing on a board that's 34" hole-hole wheelbase. Please at least space the course out so that I've got a chance against you guys and your 30" WB boards. And another thing... Welcome Back.

Hey, 66, BP might live in Northern Virginia, but he's a damned Vol through and through! As far as North Carolina is concerned, let's face it: the only thing good coming out of there is I-95 heading SOUTH!

Great Eric!!!!!! We will be having two classes. Longboard - 30 inch wheelbase minimum and Hybrid - 23 inch wheel base minimum. Due to time constraints you can only compete in one of the longboard events. Expect a hybrid type course for the traditional slalom.

yeah, cones will help control the speed. without cones, I dropped into the hill right behind a passing car, he slowly pulled away. at the big curves, he used his brakes, I flowed through the turns and nearly ended up on his rear bumper.

Picnicville Skatepark, 7pm friday night. concrete. free. fresh parking lot to set cones for the wigglers. **************** Wesley, I think the Red Clay Racing folks(not me) are working on a video clip of the hill. but I've ridden the hill. it goes down...then into a banked left turn, then drops down(fast)to the right, into the forest, takes a big left turn(25mph?) into a big right turn, then straightish to where the road levels out. a "mini-GMR". I am the sole member of the Apathy Skate Team. My team doesn't do much. And we really couldn't be bothered... P@io

I'm touched by the outpouring of sympathy regarding my plight, and will do everything I can to help things run smoothly. Perhaps I could even furnish some sort of cool refreshing balm to ease the pain of being eliminated. Maybe even a whole case. I'll try to get there early to help set the courses, if I can pack early for once...

The Outlaw race is on for this Saturday. I will have both courses set and the timer down by 3pm on Saturday we will get the longboard race started right at 4pm. If we can start qualifying for traditional slalom by 6pm we should be finished by 9-10. Hopefully that will give GX enough time to get downtown.
Due to the email I have received and the guys I have spoke to this should be the biggest Outlaw race yet. So get to the hill early so you can get pleanty of practice and decide what equipment you are going to use.
the www.eastcoastslalom.com website is down so you can reach me at robertbriparsons@aol.com.
I have responded to all of the email I received before my site went down. But for those of you that have not heard from me yet:
Directions from DC to the Gaithersberg Park and Race: Take 1270 North to exit 10 (Clopper Rd), go to second traffic light and turn right onto Quince Orchard Rd go to second traffic light and turn right into the "Park and Ride" lot. We will be in the upper left corner of the lot.
See you Saturday.

I am OK with alternating event startings if people want to to do it. It does sound fair, but LBK has a valid point as well. I will just have to go with the flow.

I understand GX's situation but I think the longboard race should always go first with the traditional slalom as the main event. If enough people pitch in to help Brian out, I bet we could finish up the race in a much timelier fashion. Also, the longboard slalom race draws non-slalomers to the DC Outlaw Races. I don't think that crowd would hang for a late night race. It's this new crowd we should try to draw into traditional slaloming. But GX is right; we should not have to go to late into the night. Sunday, I have to help move a mini half-pipe from VA to MD.
