It sounds like a legendary session in the making. Will it continue on Sunday? I've got a Downhill competition in upstate New York on Saturday. I was going to stay Sunday to watch the Street Lugers but I'll drive straight back Saturday nite. What about the following week?

Hard life being a dogtowner these days, nothing punk about limo's.....but I heard glam is coming back.........did a bunch of people show up to see that?

Dogtown / Z-Boys Demo
On 8/7/2002 bummer wrote in from (64.52.nnn.nnn)

What a Sham! I saw an ad for a "Sam Goody Old School Dogtown / Z-Boys Skate Demo" with Tony Alva, Bob Biniak, Paul Constineau (sic) etc. taking place at this Hellish tourist Hole known as "Universal Citywalk" which is a glimpse into pure theme park Hell but anyway, it said in the ad they would skate from 3-6 p.m. So after paying $8 to park, I find that the pros fled away in their stretch limo at around 4:40 instead of staying until 6:00....missed it all.

Georgia Championships
On 8/7/2002 Patio Mendino wrote in from (63.65.nnn.nnn)

I think with such a sweet hill, the organizers should include a downhill speed race.
single rider against the clock?
2 or 4 man races?
Chinese Downhill- everyone go at once, first to the bottom wins?
this might have to be a "Patio's Outlaw Event" within the event...

Reading Sk8 park
On 8/7/2002 cabbage wrote in from (216.83.nnn.nnn)

Park has 2 weeks, because of road being re routed. so this sat aug 10 all day and sat night, session, hopefull banked slalom race. Come on up and get some. The locals have patched and painted the whole place, fun as hell, come on out, and let me get some footage of you for my documentry film....Bring some soft wheels and some cold ones, anything goes at reading...be ready for a rager this weekend, see you there, any questions contact me and I'll help you out. you can camp at the park, bunch of people have been the last couple weekends. come on PA Dan and dc crew, I wanna race cones and you all know the drill.....DC outlaws invade reading, you can almost have a slalom course set up there, but honestly a bank slalom course there would be the sickest one ever, I'll film the whole event too.

DC slalom. New spot. Sweet.
On 8/6/2002 In-Law Racer wrote in from (169.135.nnn.nnn)

Hayfield Secondary paved its track last week. It’s just a minute away from the Walker place, easy-access, wide, flat and as smooth as butta. A perfect spot for a “virtual slalom” event/practice.
+++++It’s 5 min away from 495 - - - - - - -No lights after dark.
I can bring my grandma’s clock and we can all beat the current virtual-slalom record.
And if one foreign dude shows up, it’d be an international virtual slalom event. Or a world championship.
Anyone interested?

San Francisco Gravity Festival
On 8/4/2002 Robert Wurgaft wrote in from (209.142.nnn.nnn)

We are proud to announce the first "S. F. Gravity Festival" to be held September 27 to 29 in McLaren Park atop the hills of San Francisco, California, USA.

Utilizing one of the original courses scouted for the X-Games, the race will start in the park on smooth, clean, wide, undivided pavement. We immediately drop at an average 14% grade down a 180deg. right sweeper for a fast start. After a quick transition to a 90deg. left, the course gradually flattens in the straight leading up to a small rise that hides the negative-camber, hard left onto the 19% grade of Cambridge Street for a spectacular, high-speed finish with a nice uphill runout!

Course length is 6/10ths of a mile with many drafting and passing opportunities and a hairy left turn that will require braking.
The riders party Sat. night will be a Beach Bonfire Blowout reminiscent of the original Burning Man Beach Parties!
Sequential photos/ video of the course will be available to post as soon as we complete a test run on Sun. Aug. 11. If you care to join us on this "slightly outlaw" test run, contact me at
510-655-8679 hm. 415-760-3752 cell -or- robovisn@cwnet.com.
Sunday morning 9:00am would be good, possibly 5PM or 6PM could also work, let me know.

TIGHT! We don't run TIGHT in DC. I think you should open it up a little. Are you sure that that course is make-able? I dont think anyone has any equipment to run a course like that.

What will be the start rules? I don't want an unlimited push start. Also there can not be a start box. Oh, and no backstops. And don't limit the cones.

And I am sure I can come up with a few more excuses and gripes before 8pm....:) guess who

See you guys at 8

Noah,
Is it a slalom event you are organizing? I don't have a slalom setup, but I'd love to come down and try it out. my 38 fibreflex is probably a little long, but perhaps we could set a course for the longer boards? Anyhow, if i can figure out transportation (i'm carless in nyc!) i'm there.
peace,
haggy
