It pays to to get to the race site early enough to evaluate the course surface and choose equipment accordingly. I thought that surely my hardest wheels would be the best for a course on the smooth concrete floor of the skatepark, so I decided to arrive with them installed, assuming that I was set. Unfortunately, I arrived with only enough time to take 2 practice runs and then start declaring some times. The floor of the skatepark was so dusty that I was slipping and sliding even though the course was flat and straight. Lesson learned, hopefully.

Big Thanks to Bozi Boards for the complete he donated!
Jeff wanted us to figure a different way to give out the board. The Rally Banked Slalom just seemed fitting so anyone could win the board.
Note, we also gave away a set of SixTracks that Buddy pulled out of Mike McGill's box. So in a way, Mike McGill also sponsored the event.
***More info on the contest calendar in a few days.

whenever two or more gather, and compete against each other or against the clock, it IS a race. at least that's how I see it. I don't think rick travelled 700 miles for "not a race". okay, so it wasn't a BIG race, but still... ;) p

Sorry P, but yeah, Rick Stanziale was the fastest of the day. A big improvement over what I saw of him at FB.
Still, it was not a race. The rest of the swag will be used at future events or shared with another promoter`s event.
Just what am I gonna do with 3 cases of water, a case of Coke and Sprite, 50 Sabrett hot dogs and buns?

Well actually, there aren`t any. The monsoon shut that course down. The secondary course turned out to be great, Problem was, only three guys showed up.
I spoke to a few that were s`posed to race and thier contention was that they only wanted to skate Dump Rd. And I don`t blame them. I probably would`ve bailed too. But what they didn`t know was this parking garage is a fun place to skate.
Chuck and Rick sey a relative tight course and layer changed it to a cyber course and ran times. I posted a 13.2 sec and Chuck broke under 13, while Rick was consistently in the low 11`s.
I also set a SG on the steeper parts of the garage and we rode that fer a while and then did a few all out bombing runs (man was my Bonita schweet there).
Since it really wasn`t enough to call a race, each participant picked one item out of the swag box, R got the single RTS truck and Chuck grabbed the single RTS. I chose the Avalons as I`ve never had the chance to try them yet.
Basically consolation prizes for showing up. But don`t get me wrong, we had fun skating today. This could`ve been bigger had there been a larger turn out. The low attendance was due to a few factors...weather was the biggest factor but with a second dry site, it didn`t need be. Also not having a signup sheet on the contest page and longer notice before the event. Lessons learned...
We`ll see what january may hold in store.....

I know, maybe a race called "Mud Sling Rd Race" and then your posts won't get booted out to another thread like, say, the Bulletin board..

The dead dog was left at the entrance to the dump last week. Sorry if my pre-race humor offends you (no, actually I'm not sorry).

Hey Chuck, I think 'Multifaceted' would agree with me on this observation. Why should we care what someone that posts pictures of dead dogs is sick of seeing posted by others?
Come back when you're a little more credible.

Speaking of hangers-on

I'm not posting this to stick up for Brady, he's a big boy and he can fight his own fights. I'm posting this because I'm sick of seeing it...nearly everytime Brady posts something there is a small handful of people who have to post something negative behind him. Okay, you don't like him...get over it. Take it to a one-on-one level, email him, joke amongst your friends if that's what it takes to feel better about yourself. But really, now to call him a hanger-on...what does that make those who have to hang on to his every post and put something stupid and negative after? Hangers-on to the alleged hanger-on? Grow up...especially Mr. Anonymous Multifacetedscrapbook. Guess who you are? Why not just post under your real name? Or is the notion of standing up for what you say an alien one?
Now give me an abuse, gloat how many "best-of-NCDSA" votes the negative post just got, and feel great about yourself. Or just grow up.
See y'all later...I'm gonna go down to Alan Gelfand's ramp to hang out with Tony Hawk. Oooohh...I'm such a name-dropper.

Obviously, by taking notice of my last posts rating, people here agree with me.
I would put $500 on the table with me racing and beating Scabs, that is a non issue, though I sure ain't coming over to Florida to do it. Also where did I comment on scab's riding (other than the above which is infered BTW)? I was merely commenting on the verbiage he has used for the past weeks and months on here. What his s#@! don't stink? Only mine does. Sure.
I am a contributing member the slalom world. Think about it and I bet you know who I am. It isn't hard to figure out.
To save space and Adam's hospitality anything related to this e-mail me, you see there is an e-mail address, use it.
