I can only make the 9-11 session. It's a good idea though, LBK. We can work up good appetites and reason for chowing down on Thursday.

California Slalom Series #6 Results (California Championship Series date 9) West LA College, California 11/24/02
The sixth slalom of the 2002 California Championship series (and ninth date of the 10 date series) at West LA College featured a smooth, fast courses for tight slalom and giant slalom, and clear, cool weather. Richy and Scott once again displayed winning form, with Brent Kosick taking a win, too. Thanks go to Gullwing for supplying trucks to the prize pool, and to Henry for his school T shirt all the way from Connecticut (and to all the racers for being patient when the timer got flaky). At the end of a day of fast racing, congratulations went around and we all started to think of the December finale.
Tight Slalom (best of 2, 0.1seconds/cone): Richy Carrasco 12.055 Steve Evans 12. 142 Brent Kosick 13.099 Bill Wahl 13.133 Jeff Thomas 13.569 Roland Sumile 13.643 Rick Howell 13.656 Michel Kaelon 13.961 Jesse Martinez 14.532 Mike Gorman 14.852 Rene Carrasco 15.004 Roger Jennings 15.377 Grant Chamberlain 15.943 Henry Julier 17.046 (from Deerfield Academy, Connecticut)
Inline Tight Slalom: Justin Meylowitz 16.086 Skateboard Giant Slalom (best of 2 runs, 0.2 seconds/cone): Brent Kosick 22.576 Richy Carrasco 22.714 Steve Evans 23.099 Bill Wahl 23.720 Micheal Kaelon 23.993 Jeff Thomas 24.499 Roger Jennings 24.105 Roland Sumile 24.598 Jesse Martinez 24.850 Mike Gorman 27.598 Rene Carrasco DSQ Rick Howell DSQ Henry Julier DSQ
Inline Giant Slalom (best of 2 runs, 0.2 seconds/cone): Scott Peer 21.324 (fastest on course) George Merkert 23.088 Keri Tishner 24.847 Justin Meylowitz 25.903 Nar Santiago 25.903 Tim Huber DSQ
Longboard Giant Slalom (best of 2 runs, 0.2 seconds/cone): Richy Carrasco 22.505 (fastest skateboard) Steve Evans 23.448 Bill Wahl 23.503 (oops, missed the cone penalty at awards ceremony) Jeff Thomas 24.703 Roger Jennings 25.461 Roland Sumile 25.023 Rick Howell 25.759 Jesse Martinez 26.564 Mike Gorman 26.299 Rene Carrasco 26.655 Micheal Kaelon 26.783

Virgin Hills Deflowered

Take one (rare for Florida) hill, add perfect new asphalt, 70* weather, sunny skies, 67 cones, 3 fast racers (and me), the decks, trucks, bearings, and wheels needed to set them free, full safety gear for all, one pissed-off developer, the talk needed to calm down said developer, and you have the deflowering of the Virgin Hills of Port Orange....
The shame of it all is that this pristine, beautiful hill *may* never be ridden again....

Tight slalom and GS on Sunday, see the contest calendar for all the details. Richy is closing in on the season title with Attila close behind, but things could change in the last 2 race dates of 2002. See you there!

Ashlee's first time in a skatepark and she was carving the place non-stop. Quote of the night, "she surfs doesn't she?" Response, "yep she surfs, you can tell by the way she skates". Now we got to get Ashlee into some longboard slalom at the DC Winter Outlaw Slalom Series.
Next race: Sat. Dec 7th 10am Gaithersburg, MD Park & Ride (exit 10 off I-270).

Sorry to double post.
I am trying to get a solid count of the guys/girls that will be racing in Front Royal on November 30th. Remember the entry fee is $50 but you must pre-register.
Please drop me a line before this Sunday and let me know if you will be racing.
The course will be approximately 30 cones. Surface is 6 out of 10. If you do not want to pay the entry fee to race slalom please come out and help the downhill guys by volunteering to be course workers. You will get a free lunch and t-shirt, plus you will get a close up view of some killer downhill skating.

If you or a friend or family member are interested in working as one of the course workers Nove 30th in Front Royal, Va. please email me for information. You get the job you want, in the order I receive your emails.
Working with the Blue Smoke Racing Team is a good way to get the training and learn how events are run, just incase you are planning one of your own. Regular volunteers get the prime spots and extra perks.
All Volunteers Jobs have a few perks such as a free lunch, t-shirt, special recognition and most likely a few $$ for your time.
News- Darren Lott will be making it out east for this event so bring your Survival Guide and get it personally autographed. Dont have one? He will have a few for sale trackside. As Darren put it "I will be thrilled to sign Survival Guides and answer questions.I packed my luge and buttboard today. I'm ready to go."
Email me soon Bob

Olliewood: to call it epic would be a massive understatement. Hours and hours of non-stop shredding. And to see Gelfand doing ollies is to KNOW the source.
Slalom was fun, but I suck at flat courses with limited push. Oh well, something else to practice. Oh did I mention, I had fun? Thanks also to Turner, Tracker, and ABEC 11!
That 66 guy can ride vertical too...
It was Corrosion...I remember there was heavy hair farmer/skinhead action that night. That wouldn't have happened at an MDC show.
