Hamm,
There's an email list for Southern California longskaters. We mainly use it as a way to set up rides. You can join by filling out the form at

DT, Thanks for putting up the results. I was hoping that they'd go up soon.
On a related note, many of you probably don't know that in the amatuer downhill class, Thompson who took second is none other than our own webmaster DT. DT, congrats again. You did great.

Campo Results
Posted by Grace Quinn on Tuesday, 2 May 19100, at 1:11 p.m.
The Campo Race was a huge success. There was a record number of competitors at Campo, with 78 total riders on hand. Kevin Hanks went the extra mile to have a radar available at the event. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to the event by taking the time to help our crew with hay bales and clean up. The crew at EDI was stellar. Without any further delay, here are the results.

I am leading a trip from Grand Junction, Co to Moab, Utah. The course will entail a mountain pass and river expedition. Skating slickrock will be paramount. Ability to pack weight and skate is also crucial. Anybody interested in the feat, email me at doug@migrationboards.com.

Attention EDI Members:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, EDI will have a change in the schedule for the 2000 race season. We will not be hosting the event slated for May 27th and 28th in Santa Rosa. Instead, we will be hosting an event in early September in the San Diego area. As you all know, the Gravity Games is slated for the 15th and 16th of July. As a result, there will be more open slots at each race. The qualifying criteria have been finalized by the Gravity Games and can be found on the attached page. There will still be points awarded for the September race and still count toward the EDI 2000-race season.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 858-272-3095. Thank you for submitting your paperwork on time.
Best regards,
Grace Quinn

Blah, I was thinking of going to OB Thursday morning for an hour or so (I have to get the car worked on). I was also thinking about hitting Temecula for an evening session on either tomorrow or Thursday. I'll email you as well.
Glen, Blah, sums it up about right. The SMA board should work fine. The only thing that might be a problem is that on Easter week, it might be super crowded with the kids being out of school. Let me know when we're a little closer, so we can make plans. Later,

The new skatepark in Ocean Beach longboardable. I've ridden it w/ my TVS 42". Two deep bowls in the back connected by a spine, a street course with smaller bowls, banks. Lotsa space in street area to push. Go on a weekday, preferably morning to have the least crowds. I might be there tomorrow or wednesday this week. Drop me a line if you want to join me.

how's the new skatepark? is it longboardable? Would the SMA deck be too long, too short just right? Let me know, me and the family are going to be in Mission Bay for the whole Easter Week and I'm wondering which boards to bring.

On a related note, I talked to Scott this weekend and he said that we may be able to use the Westwood Ski Club insurance connections to set up event(s) down here. If anyone has ideas for locations, either e-mail me or post them here. We probably would want a hill that's steep enough to get decent speed with enough runout to be able to stop. Public streets probably are not the best idea because of all of the red tape. Maybe another college or university campus would work, because it's a bit easier to close down a road that gets little use on the weekends on some college campus than a public street. Ideas, let me know,
Also if you're in SD, and want to just set up some cones for a little low key slalom practice, let me know. I know of a few spots that might work pretty well. Later,
Chris

Yo guys,
You might be better off emailing Scott Peer, scottpeer@aol.com. He's usually the driving force behind the West LA events. I know that he has an e-mail list. I'm sure he wouldn't mind adding a few more names. Later,
