There should be a nice group of us going this Sunday morning and there may be a bbq following.
Take the 5 freeway to Ortega Hwy in San Juan Capistrano
(SJC is about halfway between LA and San Diego)
***DIRECTIONS FROM ortega HIGHWAY***
1.Drive EAST (away from the mission)
2.Go to the 2nd light named La Pata Ave (its the 3rd light if you're coming from the north) its just after the residential area and the polo/soccer fields.
3.Turn RIGHT at La Pata (if you turn left you will be on Antonio Pkwy) *** the ortega Hwy does NOT dead end ***
4.Proceed with CAUTION, it is one large hill with a slight hump in it.

Coming soon the 4th edition of the CHRONIC LONGSK8 cLASSIC, the oldest European event, the 10th and 11th of june in Anglet, Euskal country, France.
Slalom, slide contest, bowl contest, street contest, no affiliation to any kind of world championship, but good spirit and the most popular European event.
For those who can't come, videos will be available on http://www.chronicc.com after the event, and on Surfchannel and MCM.

Where: go to mapquest.com and for intersection type in; Spur Rd. & Rockefeller , for city type in Springfield, and state type in VA. Starting area is at the top of Rockefeller. Thanks to Roli, for posting the list of the events but
at least two of them are canceled at the moment
the organizers told it to me and they 've been
erased from the official schedule.
The first is the supaflex cup in june 17-18,
it has been postponed and then it's the freeride event
of Nice and i've no serious news from the organizer
so it should be canceled !

You knew me as a speedboard events organizer and rider, but i think these kind of events are sometimes too elitist and don't give
the opportunity to ride to everybody, and i hate to see my friends waiting beside the track while i'm riding
finals, it's sport but it's boring for those who want to ride and i think deserve it . so i've decided to organize
FREE RIDE events where everybody can ride with everybody, a beginner can ask to a pro to ride with him and both can have
fun, the rookie because he is able to ride with someone who could teach him how to ride better and the pro because it's
really pleasant to teach and ride with someone else than always the same pros ...
No podium no stars, just friends sharing the same passion. I asked to the sk8 and surfwear companies to give us lots of priizes for everybody and they accepted !
The goal is not only to promote the downhill but disciplins like giant and slalom and free cruising as well,
, there's no particular rules. It's just a way to democratize the sport and make it be known by a lot of people.
the next event gonna be in France in PLEAUX, the first town to give us a real road of one mile long just
for practicing longskating, roller and streeluging, you can check out the web page on LONGSKATE.NET.
I looked for it for a long time, and now i'm really proud to offer that gift to the riders .
The event wil take place in august the 14-15 and the track gonna be reserved for our sport all year long in december 2000 !
I'm looking for people who can help me to organize such an event in USA or somewhere else in the world…

This is an official invitation to all of you:
Red Bull is giving away US$ 10,000 in cash for Speed stand-up and Luge. It will be held on October 28/29 of 2000. The hill will be closed for practicing on the 27.The hill has about 2.5 kms and average speed goes up to 80 kms per hour. And it is full with turns, reducing speed during the track is required. The place is killer, awesome view. For all of you interested please send me your full address (mail) and e-mail to dkasper@mailandnews.com . But hurry there are only 14 vacancies for riders from abroad. Red Bull will be paying for local transportation and hotel. Feeding and drinking is on your own. Just think about it, Rio, Girls and all included, and specially the chance to get a hold on the US$ 10,000. Rules and forms will be sent by normal mail.
