Guys, I had been wondering the same thing. Until tonight, when I found out that Brian cancelled the race awhile ago(!). He is in Phlat-orida, running from the no-longer-existant unruly weather. Tomorrow's weather (Saturday) will be too good to waste, and we have zi timuh, soh why don't chu guys lük for sommplace dry (P&R, Gathering site, etc) in zi morning and we will have hour own race in zi afternün, ja?

The event has been approved by the park's general manager. Instead of a highly structured event, we're trying to keep it low-key. The "entry fee" is the cost of the session, and there's a bunch of excellent prizes courtesy of Bahne, BullDog, Clive, Conspiracy, DaKine, DirtBag Clothing, Drop Mfg, EAS, Gravity, Juice Magazine, Littleman Risers, Madrid, NiNjA, Powell, Randoms, Seismic, Tracker, Webb Trucks, and Wooster.

Luna Slalom Jam has received it's permit letter from the city. Thanks go out to all the members of Jackson's Special Event Commitee and Mayor Harvey Johnson. I hope this event will bring a more positive light to the entire Jackson skate community.
East coasters, this will be a great event so try and make it down.

Popularizing Slalom Races for Spectators

ya know...peolpe always want to make slalom more interesting to spectators. they slalom at skateparks hoping people will look(and not laugh). this is the wrong approach. instead, bring RAMPS to slalom races. that way, while folks are a'wiggling through the course(same thing over and over and over), the spectators can watch some crazy stunts goin' down on the ramps! ;) p

I'll keep an eye on the P&R lot (2 minutes from my work) as temps rise this week. There are ginormous mountains of snow pushed against the curb (riders right side) but I suspect the melt runoff goes straight down, not across, so hopefully we'll be a go? Usual times? Brian? Bueller? Bueller??!!

Seattle Sunday Session

Howdy- Looks like the weather is going to cooperate for us tomorrow, so... lets set up at the cones at North Seattle Community College. Practice begins at 12:00 with the racing to start at 1:00. Fastest time of the day goes home with a set of Pleasure Tool ABEC7’s! Don’t worry, Michael D. won’t be there so everyone has a chance at winning!
I will also have a new RoeRacing proto-type set up for everyone to ride (we need feedback!!!). We are looking to get the 2003 line-up dialed in and production up and running at full speed in time for the race season to start. Those of you (5) who have ordered boards and are waiting – be patient! The wait will be worth it – we promise!!!!!!
Also - as a reminder, the Seattle Contingent will be heading south next weekend to ride at the WSU campus in Vancouver, Washington. We should plan on being on the hill by noon. This means leaving the Seattle area around 9:00am. We can coordinate driving and set up some carpools over the next week.
If you want to go skate at this beautiful venue near Portland with us, but aren’t going to be at NSCC tomorrow, let me know so I can keep you informed of our plans. I can be reached at either info@roeslalom.com or garethr@attbi.com.
See you all tomorrow! Gareth
