Why would I want to go to the twin towers? That's a boring ass neiborhood! All just big corperate buildings. No sky. Time Square is the best! More cars!More dodging! Why is the race fallen? Has it been cancled? There's a lot of rain coming down, is that why?

wait for the tree of time will set you back leaving the ground littered, then twelve are ten for then when the fallen race through the island city of the rat...

...by following the illuminating twins that tower where there once was and forever will be remembered one finds that the destination is simply a part of the process.

look to yourself and reflect on the ride.

this is the cycle avoid.

When the? Where the?

Right right, I'm going to get to the point. Does anybody out there know
when the next longboard race in New York is? I went to the broadway
bomb two years ago and it kicked ass. All the info about it on this site says
it's going to happen, people are registered, people are excited... but also
that it's going to take place in 2002 (for those of you who a bit behind on
the times, it's 2004). Now this doesn't fit my scedual too well seeing as I
lack the ability to go back in time. Does anybody know what's going on?

Fun race today, thanks to the PA Slalom Skaters.
Although this includes me, it was Kevin and Yvonne Gamble who did most of the work. Some regulars were AWOL, but it was way cool to see all the new blood. Burns, Geoff (damn, hope I spelled that right!), Deanna, Clayton...there's more but I can't recall right now.
Some of you are kickin a#@!
Kevin/Yvonne will post results in a day or two.

In case someone hasn't heard...If I never race anywhere but
Gaithersburg, it will STILL be more and better than I could have even
dreamed of just 5 years ago!!

i really want to run "b",but we need a serious spotter down there, not a part timer as you deal with the tunnel and goofy peds, but it is the fastest, and in terms of a higher cone penalty, sure, lets do it.what do the daggers think?cf

you knucklehead...

...you can't start a downhill race in a tunnel and then end in a tunnel! Not unless you were in switzerland that is. Actually that "b" course starts out at street level way over on the other side. the tunnel you might be thinking of may be the one that leads to another big "s" turn on the other side of cullumbus drive. sure is a lot of potential over here and we aren't even considering a slew of options on the other side of the museum and on past mccormic place which isn't on the map.

i'm betting that hadrien and carolyn may have explored this hill before we got to it because it sure looked that they had their hinds in each other's hands. julicat said that she came up the "b" path on her search for us but i can't imagine here not seeing us on the other side. correct that she was running a bit too blonde that day.

sorry but i drew the map from memory and i got all twisted up before starting to draw so you may see it change as memory lapses in and out of the sunshine...

Chy-brid course
On 7/4/2004 Chris B wrote in from (68.60.nnn.nnn)

K...here's my .02...Course B is cool because it'd start in a tunnel and end in a tunnel...Course A, which we used last time was great, but were'nt there a could metal grates in the walkway toward the top of the last course?.....not sure how a dual run would get by that....D has that gnarly hairpin at the bottom....would make for a great run, but it's a bit shorter than the others and has a big blind spot as you turn left into the pedestrian underpass "woe to any pedestrians who happen upon the course during a run".....C is probably the steepest hill and would be wicked-fast.....so i'd guess C or B....
could we do a higher cone penalty this time?.....

on 7/24 we will hold our second outlaw event of the year, this one titled "chi-costa".it is being held for all to midwesterners who cannot make it out to lacosta.the course is in the same area as the chicago undergroung,in the heart of chicago.the hill is twice as steep as the last hill and is fast and long.it will be head to head hybrid.we have a basic idea of the course setting, but on race day one rep from each city attending will be called upon to help set the final course.races will run at the same time as last time.1.30 to 2.15 sign up.2 to 2.45 ish practice and then the quals.full safety gear mandatory and footbraking is a must as we run out into a busy ped area.we are looking at an increased enry fee to sweeten the pot and provide t shirts to racers.in terms of swag,if it is donated, great, but we are not soliciting as we want to maintain the independent spirit of the races.ant ?s can hit me at my email,cf

Hey y'all. The Rollers are planning an end of summer bash. We planning to gather at the top of Mt. Tabor and bomb down Hawthorne making stops along the way at several bars.
The route is straight down Hawthorne, across the Bridge and ending @ McCalls on the weat side of the river. There is no cost to enter you just remember money for beers. We want to make a ruckous so tell everyone you know about this. There may also be a BBQ but that part is still being worked out. We will be meeting on Sunday August 29th 2004 @ 4:00 pm on the top of Mt.Tabor. We hope to see a lot of Portland's skaters up there.

Gaithersburg Open Slalom Series
On 6/24/2004 kmg wrote in from (64.84.nnn.nnn)

Due to other events being scheduled in July (Checkers Bowl Series, La Costa) and individual personal commitments, there are no DC Outlaw races scheduled for July. However, for those who can't travel to California, or are not planning to skate in the Checkers Bowl Series and want to slalom, the Pennsylvania Slalom Skateboarders are pleased to announce the Gaithersburg Open Slalom Series.

As of now, 2 events are planned for July 10th (rain date July 11th), and July 24th (rain date July 25th). These events are NOT part of the DC Summer Outlaw racing series, and will have no effect on points being accumulated in that particular series. The races will be held at the Gaithersburg Park and Ride, and will follow generally the same format as the DC Outlaw events. There might be a few minor changes, but if you have attended any of Brian Parsons’ DC Outlaw events, you will know what to expect.

Setup will be at 9:00AM, longboard practice ("run what you brung", no wheelbase limitations) will start at 10:00. Racing commences at 11:00.

Hybrid course setup, practice, and dual racing will follow the conclusion of the longboard event.

Special thanks to Brian Parsons for letting us borrow his timer.

dont worry.we will be cool.its not that outlaw, and if we did get booted,we go to the other side of the bridge and set up there.the key is,only the people racing know its a race,to all the spectators its a session.the only thing they will tag us on is if we have a permit, which we dont,so call it a friendly little session.chris, you are right, safety gear doesnt hurt.cf

Chicago underground
On 6/24/2004 Chris B wrote in from (68.60.nnn.nnn)

We've had the same dealings with the cops up here on our weekend runs. The only problem is they may be "less tolerant" if there's a large crowd...keep your fingers crossed. With police in the area, it may also be a good idea to make helmets and/or full gear mandatory...dont want to give the city any liability concerns, ya know?

site scope and weather report for chitown underground
On 6/24/2004 psYch0Lloyd wrote in from (216.80.nnn.nnn)

been scoping out all the activity that may affect the chicago underground outlaw race this saturday (weather report has been bumped up to sunny btw). almost can't believe we are planning to pull this off on a day when over 3 million people head into the city for the taste of chicago (heheheh). lucky for us our location though down town is just a bit south of the huge shindig. important thing is that the race course is a not in the direct path of parking and the taste. plus there are alternative routes to wherever...

...police should have their hands full with all the pedestrians around the loop and in the general vicinity of the taste so it looks real good that we'll be flyin' under the radar and everything should go pretty smooth.

last week an unmarked car was spotted off in the distance keeping an eye on us but kept their distance as we tested the course, later squad car pulled up just at the lsd underpass and still noone approached. on top of that a mounted uniform came took his steed pretty close but only gave a nod as we took our last runs of and packed up the cones. no doubt they knew we were there, here's hoping that they show the same indifference to our activities in the future.

itsgonnagooff!!!!!
