millenium is a total bust but hey its always good to be reminded how it was in the past maybe it will change some time in the future.

got the dog to sit for me at the canadian border today. nice doggie made the boarder patrol take a notice of lil ol' me. nice doggie was right but the uniform wasn't aware that the grapes of wraps were in his grubby little palms all along and i snacked my way out o' there with a smile. nice doggie got a scolding. buchard gardens was green w/envie...

seattle is a party and a half spendin' time in capitol hill went to see psYch0 beach party last night, bought 1.25 lbs of foi gras. having a fun time trying to find someone to suffer the task of indulgence. joined her at the boyfriends house while julicat set the clock to dreamtime.

we should have a race here on vancouver island. be back in the us in a bit but right now just enjoying a shift in the event horizon!

Chi-costa
On 7/16/2004 Chris B wrote in from (68.60.nnn.nnn)

There's a crew of very fast slalomers in Chi-town......

they "import" the rest

heh heh heh

Hey Chris/Al.....I was thinking....it's your game and all, and Chi-costa is a good play on words.....but i think you're pulling off a really good thing here ....a race in a park in the downtown of a great city ....

even though this year's race is the same weekend as LaCosta, i think this is a good enough event to get out from that umbrella and be an event on it's own. Something that deserves it's own title and name...The Chicago Cup, Chicago Showdown or something up that alley....especially if you start attracting more of us travelers
Just a thought

I'm becoming my dad
On 7/16/2004 Vegas Alien wrote in from (65.206.nnn.nnn)

Kewl. Hope I wasn't sounding like someone's dad...oh hell. I worry too much, huh? Good you have that get out of jail card in case the occasional cop who doesn't get laid comes about. I skated out there again last night, and had a great session with my new Comp IIs. Amazing I don't run into you guys more. Are any of you the guys who were skating the Millennium Park skating rink with cones last year? I rode up on a Blacktip and chatted for a bit. Can't be THAT many slalom skaters around here.

Peace.

the guy who wrote the book on the popes life, he was my mentor but that aint nothing because you can ride the skateparks here for free and know that some kid who was responsible for the first skatepark here back in the 70's just helped make it happen at the turn of the century...

...but don't have to thank me. i wasn't doing it for you.

whatever happens in vegas...
On 7/16/2004 psYch0Lloyd wrote in from (216.80.nnn.nnn)

...stays in vegas.

we totally agree in so many ways about not screwing up the situation we have here in chicago. in fact we plan to use these events as a platform to support more of this type of riding here in our fair city. we interact with law officials on a regular basis in so many aspects of our daily lives, i have been carrying the business card of a 23rd precinct detective (also a skater) otherwise known in their circles as a get-out-of-jail free card just in case the worst scenario should occur. it may also help to have been personally responsible for setting up the network and communications in the headquarters of the last two successive states attorneys or hob knob with the leutenants of the chinese community center drink wine with certain family members in bridgeport and rub elbows with the former owners of the merchandise mart. what really gives us our edge is that smile on our face and a knowing nod that we're just here to have a little fun (that's all)...

...but if you have a beef w/somebody in kosovo, baby we can take care of that too!

Chicago Underground Race
On 7/15/2004 Vegas Alien wrote in from (65.206.nnn.nnn)

If you guys decide to race around the Grant Park (museum campus) area, just promise not to screw up and get boarding banned from the area. I skate there quite a bit and am always very careful and courteous around the pedestrians, many of whom get aggravated if you cross their paths. A lot of bike cops patrol the area, you have bikes coming from all directions, families, little kids, etc. Has the potential to be dangerous or confrontational if a large group were to get together to race in this beautifully landscaped pedestrian area.
