The race is CANCELLED!The Portland Parks Dept. has threatened to shut us down if we have the race without a permit.Since we can't get one by tomorrow and it's EXPENSIVE,there won't be a race.If anyone still wants to skate anyway, meet at the park.If 'The Man' shows up,we're not racing, just riding.

we are organizing a massive end of summer session on SUNDAY Aug.29th,2004 @ 4:00pm at the top of MT.TABOR. This is to be the first ever MT.Tabor/Hawthorne Blvd hill bomb bar crawl. The plan as it stands @ this time is to start at the top of MT. Tabor and bomb down Hawthorne to the river. Along the way we will be stopping off at several of the local bars. The total length of the run is just over three miles with a solid mile being in MT. Tabor Park. The hill bomb is open to any skater 18+ and the bar crawl is open to everyone 21+(if your not skating then bring your bike). This event is free all you need is money foor your drinks. We want to build a community and figure this is a good way to get a diverse group of skaters together. For directions to MT.TABOR just give a shout to one of the two above email addresses. Any questions and/or Ideas are more than welcome. LIVE FAST,SKATE FASTER LANCE and co.

Like this hasn't been talked about before. Last night I turn on the Olympics and man was I energized by watching two on two (mens's..although the women's ain't so bad) beach volleyball? P L E A S E!! I mean nothing against volleyball, especially the team indoor type, but...wouldn't a serious TS/GS/HYBRID/SLALOMCROSS competition be WAAAAY more entertaining to watch? For f#@!s sake, imagine watching the worlds best racers go at it in these events live! Gravity games and X games are an outlet for other types of skating, and the Olympics would certainly benefit from adding these events let alone what it would do for the future of the sport. Let's face it, there is some real rubbish that's worked it's way in. What a drag.

We are just passing time Hitting some Zip Trips. We are in Central Oregon City of Bend. Some sick hills here. Not evan Hawaii had as abundent hills. But in the last week we have seen 2 skaters go to the hospital thinking they know exactly what Gravity Stops were. Like the last 2 races It has seem like Just cuz the "Longboarder" (as u Americans call us)knows how to slide that they could kick ass in a gravity compatition. On Friday the 13th We will be throwing A Rave in central Oregon. (Look at nwtekno.com for more info, in the bend area)then saturday night 12:00am Pre Trial Try outs for Central Oregon Gravity Skate Team will be at Skyline Summit. Plz Acually contact us if you evan know what Gravity Downhill hill is. Also Recent Issues have forced us to see proof of medical insurance before U can Try out. We been looking for 5 years and have found no gravity sk8ers. I have 3 expert sliders learning now. Scince Me and wife+baby girl moved to america its been very hard. But i must have a Team to compete with the rest of the teams in oregon to state champ then to nationals. NEED HELP plz. This is how we get our money and scince america we have been broke and trying to raise a 3 year old.

we were amazed at how many pedestrians were using the park until it came to our attention that the international soccer practice was in town 60,000 tickets to a sold out stadium can bring a few stragglers in our direction from time to time.
Here's some vids hosted at www.stillboardin.com in quicktime format.
tod oles (red lane) greg fadel (white lane) alan sidlo (red lane) scott o'brien (white lane)
the hybrid course was mellower but offered less chance of pedestrian interaction though on that day it couldn't totally be avoided. we had several captivated observers and many others who passed through wondering what all the fun was about. we were also staging right along lsd so litterally millions of peoople in cars could watch the start of this race from a passing car. not bad for promotion, eh...

cfavero, cnova and alan sidlo, I too thank you for all the efforts put forth towards the Chi-town Shootout. If this is'nt the premier venue for promoting slalom in the midwest I don't what is....
Being fortunate enough to win one of the first of many events I'm sure will be held here, is a memory I won't soon forget! As Alan said the comraderie was the highlight of the day for me also.
Hope to see you all soon, Tod Oles

Alan, I'm about the last of the lot to acquire this puzzling trauma. Since I go bare foot, my feet dry out quicker than others and the doctor said she's had 100's of recent cases from guides, the moisture is the key to the bactery. Vagisil works for most, but makes the shoes slippery inside when trying to skate(I aint kidding) I gotta hook up w/ Lenny in a week or so and I'm on the mend as we speak.Glad the race went well, miss you guys and I'll be up asap as of next Saturday I'll have 19 outta 21 daze on the creek! Taking the princess of Thailand down Saturday (w/ her ontourage) She's a cutie!!!

try megadosin' on a vitamine b complex and lightly rinsing yer feets w/vinigar will change the acidity of your epidermis. just dampen them twice a day with the white stuff mornin' 'n night.
twernt referring to you dave, when i spoke of the skater from podunk btw, but i'm guessn' you'd fit the bill as well.
we gotta keep todd oles in practice 'cause i'm willing to bet that this guy can be a contender! and any one of 'em from kill city could stand up there w/the big dogs too...

thanks greg, great shot of the winners' circle there! great vid on the still boardin' site too cb/sw!
i'm still decompressing from all of the excitement of the past two weeks. tried getting it together to post a set of pictures from the race but my hands tied at work. i'll try to push out what i have today.
my best recollections of the race was the comraderie of all the skaters, especially the kids. watching them bomb the other hill skelleton style while the adults ran the gs and walking away with all the still boarding schwag was a trip. tod oles coming from out of the bleu and cleaning up, kill city layin' down some of the cleanest runs, cnova and the chef running the show and dealing w/their children then racing their hearts out. good show guys! lets do this again.
we've been brewing up some ideas to approach everyone with. we want to bring it all together daggers, kill city, and the freak bros, not to forget the podunk racer in a race series. more on that later...
