I wish I could come, but I already have plans. What's the deal with GRA? Are they going to be organizing any races?

Danny, Bring the best safety equip that you've got. Minimum of a helmet (full face if your wanting to go fast), elbow pads, knee pads, and gloves or wrist guards.

When I went a while back, two guys were able to hit into the low 50's... a handful more in the mid 40's... so you will want to wear what you can... HR

Hey hugh, is anyone welcome to come bomin' with you guys? If so, I'd really try to make it up there. I live about 3 hours away, but they sound like a ton of fun. Just tell me what I need to bring as far as safety gear, and I'll try to make an appearence!

The Freebord (yes, that is the correct spelling) is my brother's, and if we can get a date set when me and my bro don't have any obligations, we'll most likely be up for it. Could be my excuse to buy more equipment . . .

If we can all get together, I will bring the flowlab board too...

Blah, if you could bring your deck (the one with the wide trucks and center wheel, I think its called a freeboard?) I would like to do a comparison.

To anyone who hasn't attended one of these events... consider making a day of it. A lot of guys with all different types of set-ups were there and it was a real good time. I will be sure to stay for the BBQ on this one. Hope to see you all there... HR

Gravity Games : Stand up
On 7/16/2000 DT wrote in from (63.30.nnn.nnn)

Dane van Bommel takes home two golds in Downhill Skateboarding.

2 MAN: Van Bommel met defending champion Biker Sherlock in the final heat, only to see Sherlock take a hard fall at the notorious 90-degree angle turn at the top of the course. "Biker was right on me," van Bommel said." But he made the same mistake Dreds [Gwiazdowski] made last year. "He watched my foot going off my board instead of watching his line - and ended up in the hay. It's too bad for him, but fortunate on my part I guess." It was obvious Biker was dazed. He tried to get back on his board and he took another fall, but according to the rules he had to cross the finish line with all of this equipment to take home a win. And sure enough, the legendary rider managed to get back on his board to gain his well-deserved silver. John "Dreds" Gwiazdowski took home third, giving the top three seeds to Team Dregs riders.

4 MAN: Semi-finals, Dansie went down in a horrific crash on the same turn that took Biker down, only to be taken off the course on a stretcher with a serious back injury. In the next set of semi-finals, Sherlock was disqualified after a false start, taking him out of the competition all together. van Bommel dominated the final run, with fellow team rider Gwiazdowski finishing just behind him. Wenk took third and Antuna fourth.

EDI San Diego
On 7/16/2000 Danny wrote in from (205.188.nnn.nnn)

Hey, does anyone know what the deal is about this race that is supposed to be going down in september in San Diego? I've heard about it, and I've also heard rumors about Lake Arrowhead, whats up with that? Seems to me that if the event was in september, EDI members (like myself) would have heard about it, reguardless of them being tied up with the Gravity Games. Oh well.

I looked at the code on your page and it's a little rough. What web layout software are you using. It looks a bit like Dreamweaver code.

For those who try to watch the videos with a Mac on http://www.chasseursdecourbes.com , I don't know what to answer as far as I'm not a professional webmaster. All the video files are mpeg, if anybody knows what kind of file would be better to be seen on both Mac and PC, please don't hesitate...
