I plan on bringing a small flat trailer that several riders can sit on for going up and down and my buddy Troy has offered to drive and take pictures (not at the same time). There's no way you're going to want to skate or walk up this hill from the bottom.

Don't forget to bring water, TP, first aid, camera batteries, film, tape and all of the stuff you'd be kicking yourself later for not bringing. I hear that Mallard, Flynt, Hardwick, Golter and Landingham are coming. Danny, FIND A WAY!

Hey guys,
The Dump Road day sounds so fun, I was all planned to go until a family emergency redered my void of a vehicle. Does anyone feel like driving to Ridgecrest and picking me up? It's only 3 hours away. Anyone near Ridgecrest going? I'll work something out with you. I have money!

Dump Road August 6th
On 8/4/2000 DT wrote in from (209.223.nnn.nnn)

We will be meeting there at 10:00 AM. All styles of skating are welcome. We will have lots of differant boards to try out and perhaps Hugh will be bringing along a flowlab. There will also be some giant slalom. I will be teaching the Coleman slide to those that want to learn. Please bring a helmet if you have access to one,and bring full pads or leathers if you are planning on bombing it. We will have a bbq afterwards and everyone is welcome.

The hill is located in San Juan Capistrano off the Ortega Hwy. San Juan Capistrano is located south of Irvine and north of Oceanside off the I5 freeway. Exit at Ortega Hwy and turn east (right if you are driving north on i5 or left if you are driving south) you will be driving away from the downtown/mission area. You will drive through a residential area for about 1 - 2 miles than you will see soccer/polo fields on the right and the last stop light for 30+ miles, Antonio pkwy / La Pata. Turn right onto La Pata and proceed up the first hill(the fields will still be on the right) once you get to the top the hill goes back down then up again. this is the hill we will be skating, so proceed with caution. You can park at the top.

Rob,

Very cool. The more the merrier. Bring all fun toys. I have just awakened from a twenty year coma and need to see cool equipment and riding. Look for the Sta-Puff marshmellow man (white helmet, leathers) trying to keep up the new generation of skaters. I'm getting excited. This should be fun.

See you at the top!

For legal reasons I need to advise everyone planning on attending the Dump Road Aug 6th event that this is not an ncdsa.com event. This won't affect your ride one bit, but it does limit our liability since earlier posts had mistakenly called this an ncdsa event. Have fun down there and skate safe.

The snake-run course has 150 meters long at bottom line and walls up to 3.5 meters. It is considered the biggest existing snake-run course in the world. Located in a public park, so it can be ridden any time during the day (good light system). The event will be called in three languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish. 3.- SPEED (SP) – Here as well as in the slalom, there are cones spread on the course, but cones are further away from each other, making the run much faster.

Rules:

- Each rider has two chances (run) to get his best (lowest) time in each phase.
- Rider is not allowed to place foot during the run (course), in case it happens, the run will be cancelled.
- Rider is not allowed to drop any cone in the course, in case it happens the run will be cancelled.
- Rider must pass through the start line and end line, if he doesn΄t do the run will be cancelled.
- Rider must be in the start line when his turn comes up, other wise the run will be cancelled.
- Any matter not mentioned, will be determined by the organization.

POINTS:

Each modality that the rider is registered and runs in it, he will accumulate 13 pts.

First place-100 pts. Second place-85 pts.
Third place-70 pts. Fourth place-55 pts.
Fifth place-40 pts. Sixth place-25 pts.
Seventh place-10 pts. Eighth place-5 pts. Ninth place-5 pts. Tenth place-5 pts.

Dump Road Aug 6th
On 7/28/2000 Chris Chaput wrote in from (63.168.nnn.nnn)

Danny et al,

I'm gonna bring a luge or two primarily to video tape downhillers, but it's hard to be up on a mountain and not play with all your toys. Definitely bring what you got, since one of my luges is only good for going straight, it would be cool to use as a video-luge for a couple of butt-board/luge runs too. I'm gonna bring speedboards, longboards, sliding gloves, helmets, leathers and spare batteries for my digital still and digital video camera. Remember, I want to help make and post some good "how to" videos for the web and the more interesting the toys and the people are, the better. I'm willing to be behind the camera as much as in front of it, and all good pictures of all people attending will be posted that night on www.Longboarders.com (my shameful self-absorbed unchanging shrine to my over-inflated ego). Seriously, if I get good pictures of others without having to steal them, they'll be posted.

Let's have a Kodak moment or two, eh?

Hey Danny,

On the rides that I have been on with these guys it has been a "run what ya brung" type deal. There are usually some butt boarders and some other lay down type setups so I would imagine a luge would be a welcome addition... looking forward to seening you there... HR

Some pretty fast dudes are gonna be at the dump road on Sunday, Aug 6th. I have an 8:45am soccer game but can still make it by 11:00am. I'll bring all my toys and we can have "helmet appreciation day" for the non-believers. I'd love to meet all the new kids on the block. I'm coming out of a twenty year retirement from competition and want to meet as many riders and test as many products as I can in as little time as possible. No lawyers, guns or money. Cones, cameras, coolers and crash test dummies. Good clean fun for all. DT, Hugh R, Mark Golter and I are coming for sure, maybe Landingham himself and others. Rudeboy & Gilmour???
