Wow, what a crazy day...its almost 2AM and i'm just getting home from skating all day and night. my whole body aches and i cant wipe this ridiculos smile off my face.
The dump road was fun! we had all kinds of boards, luges, butboards, and a cadamaran. Rick from skatebrake brought out his new skateboard brake. He had it on various boards and a controlled version of the catamaran set with brakes. Glen from solidskate.com and i charged it and found ourselves laughing the whole way down. At first i was skeptical about the skatebrake, but they work great and are a great window for those that aren't comfortable riding normal longboards. When i met Patrick's dad, he said there was no way he would go down the hill, but that he just came to watch his son. Well within 20 minutes Rick had him cruising down on one of the skatebrake boards - real cool! We had a lot of fun sliding, bombing, and talking story. The Flyin Hawaiian, Casey, Loony and the powerhouse crew came out, Hugh and Rooney, Toxic Bros, Todcar, Patrick, Skyler,Mark from Longskate.com, Mike, Scott Peer & Chris Chaput were out in full force, Michael Bream and the Gravity boys (and girl) cruised out and had a blast, we eventually got shut down by the man.but he was really cool and i got the officer to take home a copy of International Longboarder. sick!
Afterwards Roger Jennings still wanted to skate so we went to another hill in San Juan for a couple of quick carve runs and then it was off to a brand new parking structure that only i had ridden - no security = lots of riding.
We then met up with Sean Mallard and hit up the real structures in Irvine. First we hit the 2 apple structures that are right next to each other. After an hour of riding we head over to ANTON! The fat of the land, this structure is where its at. Fast, windy, rolling, narrow corridors that remind me of the video game Doom. With about 10 different paths you can take. We skated there for a few hours, but my second to last run i clipped a pileling (check the crashing forum for the story)and had to stop... after another run.
After icing my wound and cruising home i finally get here, but am too weary to type good . well i hope to see everyone again soon.
Next weekend will be a slalom event at West LA College, this will be a great slalom event, one not to be missed - so everyone go! check back for more details.
Also THE MONKEY film premiere is coming up on October 27th in Mission Beach just south of the old coaster on the beach. Be there at sundown! after party at Guava Beach on 3714 Mission Blvd at 9:00pm.
SKATE FOR FUN! D.T.

I'm definately down for the dump road sesh anytime. Check longskate.com this week for the quicktime movies. Latez, Marc

Only days dump road seems to be safe to ride is on sundays and holidays (when the dump is closed)
Saturday rides would be ideal for me, so if you guys set something up, be sure to post it. (I do church and awanas on sundays... got someone to cover me for this one)
Most likely guys will skate until about 3pm or so. DT mentioned a beach BBQ. Last time we got some taco take out and sat on top of a very cool hill overlooking the ocean. Nice spot.
If you can hit a saturday night service, that'll get you a few more hours! Hope to see you there...
By the way, what's the weather doing down there? HR

Well I was able to get a buddy to cover my work duties on sunday. So my brother and I should be able to make the ride. Won't be able to stay too long because of an afternoon obligation. Probably only till 12:30 or so.
I'll bring the flowlab for anyone who wants to give it a try and hopefully a new cut-down blue V deck. I will also have a cut-down S9 pintail to trade.
For those of you who have never been to one of these rides, I encourage you to show up. These are a great bunch of guys. You'll see more and different equipment than you can imagine and test rides are plentiful. You'll also see that these boys can skate!
The hill is faster than it looks, so bring your best protective gear... HR

Last reminder about the race at Jester Hill in Bainbridge Ohio east of Cincinati. This is primarly a streetluge race but all forms of gravity sports are welcome to ride during practice and after the race. Challenge matches OK if we have the time. for more info go to
http://www.lllv.com/ohio.htm
The weather is suppose to be good and this hill is over 1.5 miles with grades of 7 to 14%. There is a festival all weekend so there will be spectators. Only reason other events are not racing is because I was limited to 1 day and the days are short this time of year. see ya there

San Juan Capistrano Dump Road October 22nd

We will be meeting there at 10:00 AM. All styles of skating are welcome. We will have lots of differant boards to try out and perhaps Hugh will be bringing along a flowlab. There will also be some tight slalom. I will be teaching the Coleman slide to those that want to learn. Please bring a helmet if you have access to one,and bring full pads or leathers if you are planning on bombing it.
The hill is located in San Juan Capistrano off the Ortega Hwy. San Juan Capistrano is located south of Irvine and north of Oceanside off the I5 freeway. Exit at Ortega Hwy and turn east (right if you are driving north on i5 or left if you are driving south) you will be driving away from the downtown/mission area. You will drive through a residential area for about 1 - 2 miles than you will see soccer/polo fields on the right and the last stop light for 30+ miles, Antonio pkwy / La Pata. Turn right onto La Pata and proceed up the first hill(the fields will still be on the right) once you get to the top the hill goes back down then up again. this is the hill we will be skating, so proceed with caution. You can park at the top.

Come join Westwood Ski and Sports Club at West LA College this Sunday, Oct. 15, for skates and gates FAST slalom racing. This is an exciting new format for skateboard, combining elements of old school skateboard slalom with on-snow racing. There will also be tight slalom practice and downhill bombing. This time we'll be inside the campus, on A, B, and C Streets, NOT the road we practiced on this summer! The race will have electronic timing, Westwood glasses as prizes, and costs $10 to cover the permit and insurance.

ABRADS-Red bull- DOWNHILL SPEED MONSTERS-Sao Paulo

Hi everybody, just a few words about the downhill speed monsters which took place last week end in Sao Paulo. That international event was really amazing, big speed around 55-60 mph, beautiful track and maximum safety, (more than 1800 hay bales). I did not expect such a big race, with so many great riders, and i wanted to thank the organization and all the awesome riders who made that show so interresting. The 2000$ price money and the beautiful trophies proved that abrads and their sponsors really wanted to show how they are efficient in their job and how they want to promote the sport in south America.... BEWARE OF THE NEW BRAZILIAN RIDERS !

great show! lots of work but it paid off well in fun!
this was our first time racing 4 man and the road was burly. i think that's what made it so fun was how intimidating the course was. if frank gets it paved it's going to be a killer hill!
see you all in feb, we'll be back to the drawing board for a while.

Hey guys, Oh man this was a fun race!!! The whole weekend was just plain cool! I was so stoked that I got to meet and hang out with some of the guys I had never got that chance to before Hardwick, Kludy, Golter, Freeman, Chaput, D and J Rogers. It was rad. Once again, at the age of 17, I was the youngest stand-up rider out there, along with the EDI race in Mammoth. Practice was fun, qualifying was cool (but I think I made a few riders confused such as Golter, Chaput, Lowery as to why I got 2:53 and they got 2:54's!!! sorry I had to brag!) but I got a taste of the hay in my actual heat. Chris-broken toes suck!!! I would just like to warn any other amatures of the race coming in Feb, look out for me! I will be gunning for gold. Anyway, thanks to the Waterhouse fam, all the stand-up guys(don't forget me, I'll be seeing you in the future), to my sis and parents, and to my lovely girlfriend who knows that I am a true bad-azz now!!! ;) Keep it real, and keep it fast!!!
