Danny, I feel for you dude. You're a way cool guy (and so is your dad) and it's got to be killing you not be able to make this kind of event. I am afraid that I can't give you any good advice here. When I was your age I had already taken the CHSPE to get out of high school, moved to Maryland to pursue a good contract with Belair Boards and had a funky 1971 VW Bus (camper) to get around in. It's hard telling your parents that you're going to make it as a professional skater without getting "the speech", but I was stubborn as all hell and couldn't be stopped. Beg, borrow, steal, pray, kiss butt, whatever it takes. Be there. It's always fun.
It sounds like there are going be some heavy hitters there. Kludy? Cool! Coleman? Awesome! Golter? Come and get it!
O'Conner? Well, what's it gonna be, boy?

Waddup fellas, Well, once again, due to me living in BFE(Ridgecrest) I probably won't be able to make it out there this weekend. Don't get me wrong, I would love to but, I live 3 hours away from just about anything fun! LA, San Diego, Temecula are all weekend trips rather than day trip for me. It would be cool, but my parents both have obligations that need to be taken care of, and they gave me the whole "Blah blah blah, your'e only 17, you don't need to be driving that far out of town on your own" But they really are cool about this kind of stuff,(Kludy knows) it's just not gonna happen this time. Or does someone want to come get me? I won't stop you if you want to! Kludy, what are you doing on the 10th or the 11th of December? Want to hit some hills? Gimmie a call dude. See ya.

No speedboarding here Dannyboy, just a fun day of slalom. You would be surprised how fun it is, and how it helps make you a better all around skater (including speedboarder), you should come on down and try it! Besides learning alot you'll get to hang out with 70s Freestyle King Chris Chaput and his Magick Bus ;)

The race is on. This time my plans are to avoid hitting a cone and to NOT get the fastest time of the day. After that, my plans are to avoid hitting a cone AND getting the fastest time. This way I can say I've done it all. I'll bring my speedsuit in case it rains again.
For all those in the "inner loop" of downhill skateboarding (you are if you know what I'm talking about), Saturday is gonna be a well documented blast and half with some of the best in the biz. I can't wait. The Magic Bus awaits us.

Hey guys, Aren't the WLAC races strictly slalom? Or is there some speedboarding action going down too? Tell me what is up, and perhaps I might be able to make it down this weekend.

The other night was really really fun, it brought back a lot of old memories from when i first started skating there. There were only 5 of us but we made it worth our while, i think the next full moon ride will be on a Saturday, that way more people can come.

Full Moon Dump Ride

Tonight i went riding under the bright full moon, the storm has passed and there's no clouds as far as the eye can see. Lighting was not a problem. Sunday night should be no different and i have a feeling it will be a session to remember.
We will be meeting there at 7:00 PM.
The hill is located in San Juan Capistrano off the Ortega Hwy. San Juan Capistrano is located south of Irvine/Mission Viejo and north of Oceanside off the I5 freeway. Exit at Ortega Hwy and turn east (right if you are driving north on i5 or left if you are driving south) you will be driving away from the downtown/mission area. You will see signs stating: Entering Double Fine Zone - dont speed ;) You will drive through a residential area for about 2-3 miles than you will see soccer/polo fields on the right and the last stop light for 30+ miles, Antonio pkwy / La Pata. Turn right onto La Pata and proceed up the first hill(the fields will still be on the right) once you get to the top the hill goes back down then up again. this is the hill we will be skating, so proceed with caution and your lights on high beam. You can park at the top. This session is not organized by ncdsa.com

Hey just wnated to thank everyone for their hospitality at the Dump Road this past Sunday. I was the dude from PA(outside of Philly) who cam with Hamm and Glen (Solid skate.com). Just wanted to let you guys (DT, Sturhan included) know that I had a blast, and that it was really good to see the brotherhood of skating that you have. In my town there are only 2 other longboarders and we don't hit hills anywhere near the size of the Dump RD (probably not big to you guys). Thanks for the riding techniques DT- I will practice them here-- sometimes you just need to see how it's really done. As Told dave hamm, I will always remember that day fondly, minus the "man" showing up. Glen I agree about that Mexican food DT took us to-- hit the spot.
Thanks everyone!

Chris, We thought the view from 1/2 a mile away was much better. We were all busy trying to get our pads off and getting our "we were camping out because we wanted to be the first ones at the dump Monday morning" story together. Besides, my Bronco has a fear of cops.
