Thanks to Hugh for the cool set of cut down RIIs - I put them on my slalom board when I got home - then stuck on a pair of M-80's. I know it makes no sense but the board rides real cool. haven't tried cutting any cones on it though which could change things. Thanks go to Hugh for making me the only guy in the world with a set of these. I love saying that kind of thing (even if I can't ride like the big boys.)
Should have pics of slalom/RII/M-80 deck to Hugh tomorrow.

Yeah, yesterday was fun. Although we had a better turnout than X-mas eve, it does seem the more frequent these Dump runs are the fewer people show up. I don't care about that though as long as we all had fun. There was a large amount of 'car' traffic that we could have done without. DT & I were doing a run in the mid-40's with DT drafting me, when a watertruck pulled out about 25-35 yards in front of us and dumped water all over the road. I'm still new to speedboarding and unlike DT, I'm not ready to turn my head and look behind me while doing 40+mph so I had to swerve around the truck not really sure if I was cutting DT off or not. Fortnuately it all turned out OK and we were able to laugh later.
And we all know now that 76mm Kryptos are faster than M-80's at Dump Rd, right Roger?!?!?!(just kidding)
As far HughR still smiling a day later, he should be. Hugh was THE MAN on his new luge!!
DT, thanks as always for the spedboarding tips, help and confidence.
'till we do it again Dave

Yesterday was a bitchen day! Lots of good riding and conversation.
Chris C's parallel stance speed board is a trip in progress... could be some serious potential there (a little too scary for me to try!)
Brad from Baku showed up with some proto-type trucks for us to try out (I really like it when the mfg's show up!)
I hit 62.4 on the back side of the hill (I love my little gps receiver)
Hamm took some cool pics that I'll try to post tonight (or maybe I'll go home and goof off at lunch)
The cut down randals were a success too. Todd L had to have the first pair! Hopefully he'll be able to knock off a couple of those big shot slalom guys with these "baby randals" !
I am still smiling a day later... HR

Today was a very good day of riding, mostly bombers wearing smiles. I forgot my leathers at home and Chris came the rescue with a spare suit (thanks Chris). DT showed me and Dave some friendly nudging at 40+ mph. We all were having a lot of fun and I really hated to leave early, but had to get to a U-haul before it closed. For some reason there was a lot of traffic (for a "closed" road) and a damn water truck with bad timing.

Hugh smoked me on his luge. Maybe 60 extra pounds can help on a straight course. Either that or I suck. Or perhaps my rails are slow (I didn't use the Rogers Bros luge). In any event Hugh is a bomber.
I was getting a little unstable on my parallel stance speedboard. It got better after I tightened down the trucks and better still when I moved up toward the front truck. At twelve inches wide, the deck overhangs the outside of the wheels by an inch on both sides. When in a parallel stance my feet are as far apart as possible and the increased leverage could make this new setup a difficult beast to tame. I may have to go with wider hangers, change the cushions and/or remove steering. There's no guarantee that this stance will offer superior aerodynamics or that I will be able to ride this board on technical hills, but wouldn't that be nice? The R&D will be fun. It's nice to have options.

For those who don't know... Chris C is trying to sucker me by racing on his butt board (they accelerate MUCH FASTER) than any luge any day (especially with unlimited pushes!)
So Chris, if you must race your butt board and not your brand spankin new Rogers Bro's, then I must insist upon either a one push start or a 50 ft limit line (either way butts need to be on the pan!)... HR

Hey guys, Todd Lehr doesn't have a board out that I'm aware of. I was referencing a board that I built for attemting to eliminate Todd Lehr and his cannonball parallel stance. It's hard to draft and allows the rider to use his hands out in front to push air around his knees and waist. With a wider stance, air will go between my lower legs. It's one wild ride. Check out a picture of the Todd Lehr Eliminator Series.

I'll be your drafting fodder Chris. Santa was a bit late but the Fisher Price "My First Leathers" finally came. I'll be trying to put the heat on Mr Jennings.
I was thinking of flaking out when it was looking like just me, HR & Rooney, but I'll just record the Titans/Ravens and watch it when I get home.
I'm shooting for an early arrival again, somewhere 'tween 9 & 10. C ya there

Chris, I would guess one of the tests would be to see if someone can effectively draft your parallel stance as well as a parallel stance drafting a normal stance rider. Count me in. Also if it is of any help, I have a GPS (Hugh has one or two as well). This Sunday is going to be some fun!

Hugh, You race your luge, I'll race my buttboard. If you win, I'll kiss your luge... For standup, I'm bringing out my new T.L.E.S.* parallel stance speedboard. I need some drafting partners to test its effectiveness. So far I'm amazed at how well it corners. It's 12" wide and 48" long. I use a modified speedski stance and slide gloves. Should be fun.

I really shouldn't since I'm in the middle of moving, but I can't resist. I should be there this Sunday looking for some speed. Perhaps if it is quite enough we can run on the other side of the hill - mo' fun.
Dave, cool that you have leathers, now we can race ;) Hugh, bring those Randal Runts, very cool! Todd, hope you can make it out, will have a Stradas for you (did not get a chance to get to the post office yet).

That's okay with me! Me, you, and my brother Rooney... the hard core guys! I do believe that DT will be there. Haven't heard from any of the others though...
I think Chaput is getting concerned (read: scared)... you and Roger are getting pretty damn fast standup... and I am gunning for him and his new "Christmas Present"!! So what's it gonna be Chris? Got any cheese? HR
