This time, I'll make it for sure... I think.
Lot's of stuff happening these days, and it's hard to tell whether or not I'll actually be free anymore, but I will try my damnedest to be there with you guys. I really miss that road! It's been about a month since I last got to ride Barrett, and it's been calling my name since we drove away.
I just put on some Krypto Classics, so I'm dying to try them out now. Fast! Real fast...

Yup, WestLA was washed out. Ended up riding parking structures. Found four empty dry levels with a working elevator. Cops came and where totally cool, he was just looking for some dry place to have lunch, waved hello to us while we rode by. Security guard was cool too. Lower level had a half a dozen short boarders sliding on a rail they brought over (or had stashed there). Almost felt like it was a skatepark.

Put a reminder on your calendar to drop a link to SkateRelated into this forum every two weeks or so.
I think we just forget, or at least I do. You need to bounce it off of our helmeted skulls every once in a while.
The other day I was thinking "These events are going to pass me by unless I find out what's happening, when, and then write it down somewhere."
Or, apparently, I could just check SkateRelated where that's all been taken care of. I know I've been there in the past but I need the reminders.
Webmaster - can you add a link to it on the Links page?
True, events get covered in great depth here, but there isn't an events calendar.
One great thing to have would be a one-page, three-month calendar that would print nicely from the browser, maybe in Acrobat.

This Sunday, Feb. 25, will be a practice on Sophomore Drive at West LA College. We had hoped for this to be the season opener, but haven't gotten the permits in order yet. Bring anything that rolls downhill this Sunday (weather permitting)!
We'll be having a series of races at WLAC in 2001, hopefully starting March 18. The first dates will be street luge, bike, and classic luge races (yes, we'll have special insurance for this), with practice for skateboard and inline. Thanks for being patient waiting for details, I look forward to seeing everyone for lots of fun skating this season!

shnitzel, Trying to get information about events in advance is like pulling teeth. I put together SkateRelated.com with the idea that people would like to do "one stop shopping" for events and that promoters would want their events promoted (for free) but no one has really stepped up to the plate and contacted me directly. I can't get info on single question race rulings. I guess they think that we'll magically show up, shut up and race without any questions, comments or suggestions. I'm doing the best that I can, I suppose they are too.

i think one of the biggest things holding back downhill skateboarding as an organized sport is the fact that I can't find any info about future events......
right now i am looking to choose which circuit (edi, igsa) i might like to hit this season as funds may not permit both. now how do i choose??????? i see all the events listed at skaterelated.com but no info on the majority of them.
i truly belive that it is this fact that keeps the rest of us international competators from the scene. i'd love to see info on each race and a map of the course months in advance. redbull is extremely good at this and they're newcomers to the scene........ what's up? the info for the barrett junction race in 30 days still explains how to register for last year. lets get with it....
