Arab, I think, knows my views about using the 'N' word, and I have seen his explanation of why he used it, and in what context. I'm happy to accept that, and realise that he wasnt being rascist in his use of the word when he used it. In fact he explained it well, to my satisfaction, for what thats worth. The only problem is that not everyone gets to understand the thinking behind using such expressions, and Arab is getting the blunt end of the stick for using it, which is a little unfair.
Maybe I'm being too sensitive but I don't like it used in any context, and I don't mind who knows it.
PS, anyone seen any dry pavement?

SingleFin, I think you've got me all wrong. All I was trying to say is that if one is going to complain about someone being insulting, being even more personally insulting is not the best strategy. For some reason, Arab's posts read most like "trash talk" to me. We can all laugh or ignore or whatever. On the other hand, calling someone an idiot and making comments about his kid and whatnot (in the now missing post by ball bearing or someone anonymous like that) crossed the line from internet chat room goof-off to real life. Not cool.

Maybe there needs to be a "PRO Slalomer" forum so you guys can duke it out. I enjoy reading about the races you hold and maybe the old days by some the legends. I agree with the other guy "ball bearing". Please Stop that crap. I may just stick to the other slalom site. But Im sure Mr. Slim and Mr. Arab would'nt mind that. cuz Im not a "racer" Im just a kook who runs his little flexy skateboard thru little orange cones in the street.

Actually Glen, lets set the record straight, first off you have accused the webmaster of something that isnt true, YOUR A LIAR!!!!!!
The posts that I made that got abused by the viewers was reposted by me twice, the webmaster pulled it twice and I reposted it 2 more times, Why did the webmaster pull it? because he asked me not to post Chris Chaputs Personal info, This is the same info that Chris has used in ads for his company so I failed to see what the problem was.... Apperantly Chris needed something to complain about so he used this, Why when all the info was common knowledge??????
The webmaster pulled it once and I reposted it without Chaputs info, then it was pulled 2 more times by the viewers with abuse votes, I continued to repost it because it was fun to watch people that have so much hate in them scramble to get it removed, I reposted again with Chaputs info, I had copy and pasted it from where I saved it but forgot to delete Chaputs info, I was rubuked by the webmaster and suspended from posting as he pulled it again.
Glen, not only are you a liar, but you have slandered the webmaster, You also are a kaniving cheat that asked me to keep my mouth shut about a shady transaction that you were trying to swindle somebody for.
I think before you dig yourself deeper you should apologise to the Vendors that you tried to hoodwink into believing your lies, you then should apologise to the Webmaster for your greed and lies that you told about him, then you should apologise to the slalom community of which you really have no part of other then the fact that you have led people astray into believing you actually know how to ride a skateboard, then you should apologise to me for the lies you have told about me, then you should apologise to your wife for what you did to her.
If you think this website is full of personal attacks, go over to Slalomsycophant.com and you can see how they are spreading the hate, Their latest victim is Jack Smith, I wouldnt say anybody is beyond reproach, but if there is anybody that is near it, it is Jack, and these people have no regard or respect for Jack making this whole rebirth what it is. I'm sure those people will be changing their posts and The webmaster will probably remove the whole thread in order to protect his beloved website that is so full of hate. Just like he did last time they tried to lynch Jack. Why is the webmaster there trying to cover up for people? Is he trying to hide the fact that his website is as big a farce as he is?

You must be confusing me with someone else. I am not trying to "bring slalom down", nor did my post imply anything of the sort. To the contrary! I am wholly supportive of the slalom resurgence and think it's awesome!
I also wonder why you call me a "non-slalomer" just because (as I explained up front) I don't race. That's like saying that someone is a "non-skater" if they don't compete in vert competitions, or a "non-downhiller" if they don't race EDI, or a "non-musician" if they haven't recorded a CD. You made my point better than I could: It is rather odd and illogical (and meanspirited) to attack someone's post as being irrelevent or insipid just because they don't compete professionally (or if they do, they don't win races all the time).
Yes, you are right: the slalom board is the most active. But as anyone (including Adam, by the way) will attest to, it is also rife with personal attacks back and forth, and more "off-topic" stuff than most other boards combined. By the way: my post was NOT "off-topic," as it dealt specifically with the slalom board.
Look -- I do not know you. But just because I don't know you personally or I don't race professionally doesn't make me a clueless idiot or an "enemy" of slalom. I know that you have made HUGE contributions to the sport (not just slalom), that you are one of the top riders in the world, and that you are extremely, extremely passionate about slalom & skating in general. For all that I give you major kudos and props, which you deserve! So calm down: I am *not* part of some "anti-Arab" conspiracy or whatever. Really.
All I was pointing out is that the personal attacks and off-topic stuff on the slalom board are ridiculous and offensive and boring and SO OLD and out-of-control. And if you read my post you will see that I was in NO WAY condoning or defending jonnyx or whoever he is. And yet you turn around and make personal attacks on me, including implying that I agree with jonny's political views on Iraq!!! A far-fetched presumption, based on *nothing* other than the fact that you didn't like my post. So all of the sudden I am anti-American (like jonny, even though I never even *mentioned* Iraq and you have NO IDEA what my political views are), I'm a "non-slalomer," and I'm an ignorant newbie because I've only posted twice to the slalom board. This is precisely the kind of personal attack which I was complaining about.
Let me say it again just so you don't freak out: This is not a flame against Arab. It is a comment on the state of the slalom board, which is f*&$d up and overloaded with personal, non-slalom crap. You and I probably have more in common than you think, and we'd probably get along great in person! I'm not a professional skater, but I've been skating for 30 years and have a small skate biz, and I'd be stoked to even skate the same sesh with you someday. So please do not shred me up and down and make all sorts of assumptions and attacks based on overly defensive emotion.
There is no question you make as valuable contributions to slalom as anyone else (including Jack or John or Chris), and that you *CARE* down to your bones about the future of the sport. But this passion often rises to the surface as anger and vitriol and gets personal -- and you don't have to post more than twice to the slalom board to figure that out. Your passion is evident and is probably one of the reasons you (and your son) rip so hard. I'm not trying to play therapist here, but when you follow the flame-wars over the past 2 years, it is no coincidence that you are involved in nearly every single one. Yeah, there are other total jerks who make inappropriate and offensive remarks (like jonnyx at times), no question, and anyone who has read ncdsa for some time knows that it's not always your fault. But my post and your turning it around to a personal attack on someone you don't even know demonstrates what has happened dozens of times...
I *have* read ncdsa for 3+ years, so I know full well what goes on here and I'm not a clueless idiot or trying to "bring slalom down" as you state (a totally bizarre claim). I just wish the personal garbage on the slalom board was less, and your sarcastic reponse makes my point, I'm afraid.
No hard feelings, though. I'll probably get ripped for this post, too, but that's OK.

Dave G, i have two mates one comes from Northern Turkey and the other from the Ukraine and i quoted them Shaw's perfect observation and they both laughed their nuts off shouting out "TRUE".....most people get it the first time Dave.
