Skategeezer I'm glad you liked your "Skategeezer" model, I enjoyed making it for you! Making your own boards is a blast, and not as tough as you think. Whether its out of an old water ski or a primo piece baltic birch, anyone can make thier own skate deck. It's fun , creative, and very Bob Villaesq! Tan-Dog is speedboarding outta here and breathing saw dust! (Look for Tannis' skateboard story in Michael Brookes up coming book: "The Concrete Wave"!)

I just wanted to agree with Ren about how phat Aloha decks are. Just a warning to anyone who's thinking about moving the front truck up for better walking ability: DONT! I did that with my board and it was great for walking, then I bounced on it and snapped it.
Anyway, Aloha decks are awesome. VERY well made. -phill

Just bought a Aloha complete from Mark Vella, THIS BOARD ROCKS diggitylysplit!!!!! I have not been able to step off it ever since I got it, so smooth [and the grip method is insane] I will probably stick with his decks for a while, For downhill and cruisin these are definatly some of the finest handcrafted decks available. The boards are so nice I dont want to ding it up, the bottom is a smooth resin finish that is supa, and the top has traditional hawaian patterns under the hard resin/fiberglass cloth finish. Aloha decks rule, I cant say enough about em.

Just got to thinking...you don't suppose that UFO was taking those cult members that offed themselves up to the mother ship behind Comet Hale-Bopp do ya? If we could find out when the photo was taken...versus when those dorks wasted them selves...hmmmmmmm?

Okay, was my Sept./Oct. issue of "Longboard" (the surf rag with the longboard skateboard insert) the only one with a UFO hovering over the tube in the background photo behind the guy skating in the Gravity ad, or what?!? Does this mean that we are all actually aliens from another world where longboarding is the number one sport on the planet?!? Spanky gots to know! If we are then I wanna go home now!

Would anybody be interested in putting together a longboarding contest in the NorCal area? Events could include: Giant Slalom, Slope-STYLE, and maybe a "man-on-man slow downhill" event. This is an event where you don't have to think about breaking your butt or the speed record. Just race against some one on a semi-mellow type of hill. Mostly, I want to develop a "FUN" contest and get-together.

I used to think that everybody in the longboard community got along fine with each other. So while I was checking the links section I saw that there was new site added called Soul Skate (wonder if they were influenced by another pages name....) Anyways I went there. It looked like a pretty good page until I went to the links section where the webmaster decided that they had the best site and they were going to say anything they wanted about any other longboard page on the internet. I like the way he says exkates are "supposed" to be good trucks and then goes onto making fun of their electric boards. Goes on and on saying F this and making fun of other pages. Calls Streetwaves a " crappy backyard operation" I dont really know what else to say besides you need to check the page and see the other stuff he says.

Longboarder personals- Looking for a longboarder to skate with? Try 'http://www.streetboards.com/links.html' In there is a personals link for longboarders.
I sure don't want that to be the service we all use but think we as long boarders should have a service to look up others in our hood or across the globe so we can enjoy more ramps & hills and friendships with other long boarders.

Hey,
Just wanted to let you all know that after a 3 month hiatus--damn, has it been that long--I have finally updated Nose Wheelie.
A news story and skate tips have been added.
Sorry about the long wait. I'll try not to let it go so long next time.
