Fun facts,A friend of mine who used to live in cali,saw my Stroker recreations/techno upgrades said he worked on a set back in 1980 or so and he said everything pivoted on urithane bushings like high performance automotive suspension, I like everything on bearings though bushings would give a smoother ride.

yes, Herbin I had a pair of speed springs on G&S fiber flex with road rider 4's, that's a board that I wish I still had. However the speed springs were a funny truck they were very sensitive and had to be tightened and loosened until they were just right for your weight, anyone else rode your board that was a different weight was all over the road. I had a few tell me it was a real lame ride, you just had to understand them.

Ok, Whizzer, (I'm not sure of the spelling) was one of the first sets of wheels I owned, I was young and I thought at the time they where really cool because they had an inset tread on them, when you rode real fast on a good flat surface they would make a hum or more like a whizz sound kinda like a four wheel drive tire does. They were lt blue and about the size of a road rider 4. Performed only better then maybe a roller ball but hey I was a kid. However, not that I want them again but I never seen or heard of them since, as if they never exsisted.

I have almost all of them except about the first 5 and almost every Thrasher mag Keven ever put out even the BIG first editions,also old Santa Monica Airlines boards(used)the big pig models.
Would like to trade this stuff for a good long board,does not need to have any hardware,I have boxes of wheeles(remember the Blackheart wheel?)

Ah yess, the dark ages of the 80's. Mag ribbon imbedded in a skid-plate good for igniting small brush-fires along arid-area ditches.Never used them myself,I found 30mph sparking 50/50 grinds more fun and it smelled...I love the smell of grinding alluminum -anytime!!

The metal cutting lathe does this truely professionally,you need to make a "live center" that can support a skate axle(among other things)its a simple cup that holds a skate bearing and can be chucked in the drilling chuck of the lathe, then the axle can be clamped in the main three jaw lathe chuck and the other end can be supported in the live center and you can cut the hanger down,taper the ends,whatever. Then you just run a 5/16x24 thread die down the axle,cut as few threads as possible,then trim the axle ,if the axle nuts lock against the end of the thread at the correct bearing ajustment it makes things very secure.

Here is my method for shortening trucks,if others have a better way PLEASE let me know.For the hanger:mark around the hanger with tape very slightly past where you want it and carefully cut through not quite to the axle.When you are all the way around it should be quite easy to break free the extra length. To finish to a smooth product I have made a "special tool".At almost any hardware store,in the plumbing dept.,you can get cutting stones that were intended for water valve seats. I had to slightly inlarge the hole in the center to fit over the axle. I came upon this trick unintentionally when I had some trucks that had irregular hangers that weren't true to the axles.It works great!Now for the axles: it's a fairly simple procedure to hack them off with a saw then thread them with a die.Thank you to all who have answered questions!
