The velcro only worked on extremely light boards and with guys who could jump like cats. For guys like me, who can hit about 6" of vertical on my best day, they never worked out very well.
We would modify our intertube set up too... One tube double wrapped around the deck... a second tube attached via a caribeaner to the first... really worked well.
I showed this to one of my kids (who is an ollie'r) he was not too impressed and gave me one of those "thats the dumbest thing I have seen all day" looks... oh well... HR

There used to be a big blue one,with a grey replacable slide piece,then there was the Clyde slide PVC pipe wedge, then there was my Laperiser which was a 45 deg. beveled UHMW riser(3/8 or 1/4)that extended out from the truck, then had another piece of UHMW screwed to it.I made a couple hundred of these babies and most of them are in the New York area they rarely broke unless you took them apart.

I got 2 Bruce Logan(26 Inc?) and the very first Alva that came out+a bundle of old wheels(road riders, kryptonics, Alva, bones, yoyo´s) The boards are in pretty good condition but all the wheels are rather worn out. I have also got A LOT of tracker hangers+base plates with brooken king pins. I wont sell any of this but would be willing to trade. A Sims Taperkick (long one)and a Turner slalom board is at the top of my list. Im in Europe but have a business going in Cal. Usa, so dont be put of by the distance. Take care and USE your old gear.

I have one and it has the nub, hehe. My gulls are taken apart attempted to be painted black(young,and not as good at doing silly things)the axles are missing,though i know they're somewhere,I'm gonna hold onto stuff though,its all collecting in one box now, and if i spot the missing stuff it'll go into that box. Most of my old stuff is thouROUGHly used, but my set of Roadrider 6's are mint, used but still have some surface gloss.Three sets of Powell Cubics used on mostly on ramp and some smooth concrete,Unused OJ II's ?how did that happen?Yes OJ slaloms and Superjuices too.DT Rock and Roller conicals ,who ever bought that shogo for 1400 dollars can have these for the low low price of......hmmmmm gotta go:)UPS is here.

I refinished a Taper Kick. It came out better than new, you can use really high quality varnishes for fine furniture adn get spectacular results!!!!!

do they got,what is it like,i heard it was like a gummy epoxy that if you dab it forms little razor sharp peaks,and its thick enough to hold that shape until dry,or you hold the board upside down,real strange stuff.

Doug Hitch, I have no idea as to the real collectible value of your Ick Sticks, but as a slalom rider, I'd have to say they're priceless. If you ever decide to put a price on 'em, let me know. I've heard about them since the 70's and as a Turner-owner, I'd be very eager to experience the difference.

Its pretty scratched up. I can do the refinishing work but I was wondering what to do about the logo on the top and bottom. How can I replicate this?

My trucks,are essentially scaled up versions,I printed a pic off this web site,and folded the paper to copy angles,i used bearings in all the pivots because,if i'm gonna spend a 80 hours to make something that's gonna get sloppy quick,then i might as well spend a hundred hours and some extra money and have them last forever.My trucks have 5.5 between the wheels and with a 36 inch axle to axle wheelbase they turn about a 6.5 foot circle,does this sound sluggish to anyone? I've gone maybe 30 tops on this board though constant carving was needed to keep the wobbles away,so it may only have been 25,but you can turn up single lane driveways and carve around and back to the street with no drifts,drifting added at slightly higher speeds for fun.

I have two of Rick Howell's cambered foam core fiberglassed decks. Best of all the oldschool slalom boards I rode. Top is flat from rail to rail unlike the the Turner's that rolled the rail over to the bottom of the deck. The Ick allowed you to always know where your feet were, none of that floating heel/toe feeling. Very stiff they put all of your energy to the wheels and trucks, bounce is only good on a trapoline! the same as a stiff framed road bike.
Anyone have a idea of what there worth?

131's (original 1st series) and Road Rider 2's! I also
have a couple of pairs of vintage Tracker Half& Mid Tracks,
OJ super slaloms, and some Bennett Pros w/original
"red rubber" bushings. I am looking to replace my
"Soul Board" a red 1978 Jay Adams "Z-Flex"! Also looking
for Schmitt bushings yellow "mids" or orange "softs" I will
trade or buy. I will also dig deep into my collection of
Skateboarder mags! I have 4 complete years
of Skateboarder from 1976-1980, and some issues of Action
Now, many vintage Thrashers, Transworlds, and 4 Spike Jone's
HOMEBOY circa 88-93? Am currently cruising a 2000 36"

Schmitt bushings, green Gravity G's w/Abec 5's & 3/8"riser
& urethane shock pad. Smoothest, fastest, most respnsive
deck I've ever assembled or ridden! Dos Luminos!

Lending my recollections to the discussion on Strokers, I recall them as being far too heavy and far too sluggish to be used in any skating application that required "nimbleness". However, I recall claims and rumors of an implied guarantee that they would NEVER wobble at downhill racing speeds. That's my understanding of why many downhillers used a single Stroker as a front truck. Also, while a standard truck is a pivoting mechanism, the Stroker is a turning mechanism and it could actually track a little funny if you had one on the front and the back. ...and yes, they were very expensive.

Gese that hurts,i gave /lent my shogo to my friend George weighing in at 230 or so at the time,he then told another mutual acquaintance that it couldn't be broken,m.a. proceded to focus this 1400 dollar board. My red and white Shogo that i ripped around Cherryhill,FortLee ramps and maybe even my trip to Marina,Upland,Whittier,ect. on with mag Extracks ,Copers,and Original Powell Cubic (a little yellower and a little harder/faster)with Sims Gold bearings, that was during the transition to concave,I also had a couple of Powell Jay Smiths at the time,snub nose,with glass,very thin,had bearfoot industrial griptape under my feet on those,the stuff was to expensive,and harsh on the fingers to cover the whole board.

I'm very sorry . I'm new to this forum and thought I was just posting my boards. They are not for sell. I sanded the
SIMS SUPERLIGHT down to get it back in shape, unfortunatly I had to sand off the logo. I restored the wood with 3 coats of urethane and stenciled the logo back on the bottom from a template I made of the old logo.
The board had alot of wear and need some fixing up but now it is beautiful.
Again sorry for the confusion.
