I’m just getting back into boarding, and I’m using 78A Kryptonics for carving on asphalt. They ride real smooth, but they don’t slide too well (at least at my lows speeds). Can anyone suggest other wheels that aren’t rock hard but still slide? I’ve seen references to harder Kryptonics (80A & 82A), is there an on-line/phone shop that sells them? I know Bones makes 85A and 90A bombers, how well do they work? Thanks for the advice!

Hey Tony,
I've ridden the revolvers quite a bit this summer and like them
a lot. They're pretty damn fast and have held up well, even
on rough stuff. Although they are quite grippy, they can be
slid if your willing to push it a bit. I got a deal on four
sets and still have a couple new sets left ( cool skull stickers
included). If you want them i'll let them go for $30 and shipping,
i'll throw in some spacers cause they're an odd size. Let me know.

Definitely correct, pricewise , I only wish the cherrys came with bearings, only 4 mm bigger but one and a half times as expensive (and they don't glow!) I charge thirty five for the glows and forty five for the Cherrys.But you know the outside surface increase is geometric and that contributes alot to durability and even traction ,bigger wheels run cooler therefore grip more constitant. I just did some hills in Ridgefield that should not even be considered by someone with less than ten years experience at being a maniac,narrow, steep ,alittle rough ,ending in a busy two way street (its only safe feature is its a oneway going down) , slides are a must, speeds over forty , very possible ,and this is the second sickest hill. Anyway the cherrys handled it like champs minimal wear lots of control.

Don't the cherry bombs come w/ bearings? eXkate turbos are $30 for a set, but then add $12-20 for bearings, and the cherry bombs don't really seem that pricey for all that extra wheel.

they are half the price of Cherry Bombs. 76mm vs. 82mm, same hub, same compound (in red at least)...just a hair smaller, and you can get two sets of them for the same price as the "bombs". They are a bit slower...but if that's a problem, just go find a faster hill.

Hey, why are you all telling me that the Cherry Bombs would be expensive? When I let 4 Cherry Bombs be shipped to Switzerland, I pay 60$.
Normal wheels (Sector9, Kryptonics...) cost about 70$ in Switzerland.
From now on, I wont buy stuff in Switzerland anymore!

Got to be ,thee best wheels I've tried,they rule, speed, grip,tough, they seem to have it all.If only the cores had been molded with a groove so a hubcap like disc could be snapped in for bearing protection and airodynamic attitude,polished cromelike aluminum discs,oh well when mine get a little beat I make them myself.

On real short steep hill thats really smooth a small hard wheel will have the initial pickup speed , every factor changes this , and theoretically you could have any durometer and any size (Width factors in if there are corners)so you have one perfect wheel for any hill. For bigger hills ,bigger wheels will haul ass. Urithane formulas vary considerably 82a can sometimes be grippier than 78a read some reveiws then go find out for yourself,everytime you buy wheels try something new until you find one that works good for you.

On the links for exkate,there are two. One says there wheels are 76a durameter and the other says 78a. Which one is correct? Also do any companys make a wheel that is 76a?

What are the wheels of choice for speed with out sliding? Why? Larger wheels tend to go faster than smaller wheels but at what point does this stop? What is the best hardness for speed?

Poor babies, down to 63mm back,67 front. Grip is between my gummy grabby Madrid/Envy 82a and my floaty,powdery but way fast Roadriders 78a. I must say the cars were out to get me 2out of 4 rides yesterday were interupted by sliding turns up driveways because a car reared its ugly head. Today I also dedicated a ride exclusively to backside handdown slide turns. My instintes will not let me bomb my exskates straight always turning alittle like a snowboarder tring to avoid catching an edge at speed on hardpack.Thought they were gonna wobble on my last run (fastest) but they didn't.

Went for a few rides last night on my Motherlode 58 totally awesome deck floats and dominates any wheel (I think) the last time I rode it i had these 82a generic madrid wheels (un-cromed envy wheels) those wheels had a rubbery hard line holding grip that seemed like I had my hands full tring to control them on my "short" board ,44 inch Lib Tech, on the Motherlode they just drifted nice. The 78a Roadriders seemed faster but that might have been because of several variables; Reflex bearings (ABEC5 seemingly faster than Swiss) darkness , different pavement ,smoother, bumpier, blacker. How do Sector 9 balls ride? how do Cherry Bombs compare? I think the cherrys are gonna be a wet-nightmare that leaves you smiling and shaking if you manage to keep yourself relativiley uninjured.

Hey Marc,
forget super mundos, i don't think they are the lonely wheel
to be good for longboarding, but if you're looking for something similar try the
gravity super gs in black, 80 A or invisible 78 A, they are fast, have a good grip,
and are better in sliding because of their round edges !
