One event at the World championships of Slalom was Cyber slalom, It was held in a roller rink,Because of the layout of the race wich called for flat smoothe surface, there was a delay in the start of the event and was great to see alot of old schoolers busting out in freestyle and 360s. One of the promoters anounced a on the spot 360 contest and everyone jumped in going at it! Chaput,Gesmer,Hackett,Oshea,Kealon,Olson, were battling it out on barrowed street decks so with some proding I had to show these guys some spinns. Instead of going big on the tail I went with two footed nose wich is way harder especially on a foriegn board. I hoped that I would not fall on my A on a slippery surface and pulled some OK spinns and won,Alot of people can not believe I can still bust it out! Keep on Spinning.............

Hey Marc, If I remember right I think about 44 or so... sorry! Pope can kill it on his steel wheels and has gone into the 100s, He was not able to ride them at the event because of surface problems, The feat he did was great, on slippery painted asphalt. And thats why he is the 2004 World Champ, Sk8kings has Two 360 Champs Now!

Ha Ha is right! BTW -- Henry -- is that a Brown Bomber given nickname you have? I wouldn't be surprised to hear you say "yes". Anyway -- we have a whole collection of these skate park id's that used to be kept in a shoebox under Richy's bed. Now I have the originals for safekeeping . . . ;) And I think it was Brad Ellman who made the noidnoskate.com website.

All:
I can't thank everyone enough for helping make the Casper Classic 2 a success: Bobby "Casper" Boyden, Frank Lee, Mike Foster, Al Garcia, Michael Stine and Crew, Matt Brown, Dan Gesmer, Russ Howell, The Staton Family, The Barrios Family, Steve Day, Laura Thornhill, Heidi Lemmon, Daryl Grogan, The Carrasco Family, Primo Desiderio, The Pope Family, The Douville Family, Gunter Mokulys, The Synnott Family, The Robertson Family, Lynn Cooper, Carlos Lastras, Francis Lavallee, Witter Cheng, John Leathers, Daniel Trujillo, Aaron Lasnover, Andy Terbovich, Sean Myers, our DJ. Sorry if I missed anyone.
Also, thanks to the sponsors (Casper Industries, Sk8Kings, XNE, CowboyPunk, Navigator, Direction, ConcreteWave Magazine, Sheraton, BulletStream Technologies) of the event, and the companies who made it possible for their riders to participate (Reverse Freestyle, Capital, Outlook, Seismic, Oust, Food, etc.) Sorry if we missed anyone.
The skating was amazing, both during and outside of competition. But, the company we kept was even better. It was so good to see everyone again. The freestyle dinners were filled with an amazing cast of skateboaridng legends and champs, past and present.
I sincerely hope that word will continue to spread about what our community is trying to achieve, and that our hard work as a team and our networking will lead to the support of more and bigger opportunities in the future, providing the flatland freestyle skateboarding community with various avenues for those who wish to compete while providing various other opportunities for those who do not. The end result is that we not only want to preserve and honor a piece of skateboarding's history. We want to see it thrive, push progression, and make sure that we have the backing from a financial and technological perspective to make it happen. For those kids who live several miles from the nearest skateable obstacle, we want to make sure that even they have an opportunity to excel at skateboarding.
Enclosed is an updated list of the contest results. I was just informed that the video footage will be made available by end of week.

Big props to our SK8KINGS team members who represented at the Casper Classic II over the weekend!
SK8KING John Pope is the newest World Champion 360 Spinner -- winning the 360 spin-off competition on Sunday. The surface at this venue made it impossible to use steel wheels so John muscled his freestyle setup and spun his way to victory. John also competed in the Master's FS event and placed 4th -- all this while babying his recently injured back!
SK8KING Primo Desiderio entered the Pro Freestyle event and walked away with second place -- not too shabby for the Preeeeeem -- who was also recovering from an injury!
Team Captain -- Richy Carrasco was on hand to demo/jam and was a judge for most of the final events on Sunday -- deciding to sit out the 360 shoot out and coach John Pope to victory instead.
Besides our SK8KINGS team rider victories -- the highlight was connecting with all our fellow flatland enthusiasts. I was there of course -- cameras in hand -- and will post some images and more as soon as possible.
Congrats to all the skaters -- great to see you all again!

Casper Classic II Sorry -- I've now been told admission for spectators is NOT FREE afterall -- Here are some rates and rules I received from the Casper camp:
Oh well, I won't be going and bringing my kids to it then. It's too bad they are charging for it.
