as our website reads, all the extra (and cool) events are all "longboard" events. The deck size must be a minumum of 36". You may use multiple decks though, even an extra one that is shorter, as long as it does not become your main board during your 2 minute routine. the deck heighth of the board for the "high jump" event will have a maximum heighth that has not been determined yet. obviousily we don't want anyone showing up with 10" riser pads, etc.

on a another note, i was skating by a gas station yesterday when an older pretty heavy mechanic comes out and says he used to skate. he goes on to tell me that he was an east coast champion once. he has not touched a board for over 20 years. in the next few minutes, he's skating like a baby and doing handstands all over the parking lot. everyone that knows him keeps running out and laughing out loud because they can not believe their eyes! they are so shocked to see their mechanic skating like a little grom on Christmas day. He (goes by Bamberg) has asked me to get him in shape and he is GOING TO COMPETE! hurray for him-it was good to get another skater back where he belongs. tasos

in the Folly Beach contest(s)...
*high jump...no rules? any board size?
*freestyle/slopestyle/whatever...what size board, 36"? 42"?
is this just riding on flat ground? no ramps, curbs, whatever? can you use multiple boards in your routine? it'd be cool if they had start ramps in the slalom that we could use in the slopestyle...heh heh
*360s...36"? 42"?
thanks.

hello all...
I've realized that I have been ignoring the basics of skating...FREESTYLE!
I didn't know that I'd miss the days of the neighborhood kids in the street doing 360s, kickflips, high jumps and nose wheelies...
but these are my roots. the basis of all skating.
I want to enter the high jump contest at S.C. I didn't realize that there was all this strategy involved(tall wheels and boards, etc...).
anyway, today I'll go hang out with the street sk8 kids and practice my oldschool freestyle...and maybe boneless up onto the ledges that they ollie to.

AJ Kohn,
Please send me more information about your upcoming Freestyle contests and demo events. I'd like to come out and skate with you guys again. I'm sure Kevin can be convinced as well.

Buddy,
The clear upper bushings that we have been using for the past year have worked very well on our Reverse Freestyle products. I highly recommend that you continue manufacturing them.

Keep on 'STYLIN all!

Demo opprotunities in Eastern Canada:
These are the dates left on the KC Prodjects Tours of Eastern Canada, Kosta the head promoter asked me to see if anyone is interested in skateing at some of these events to promote Freestyle in Eastern Canada. THey said that to contact them about when you can come up and accomodations they would help those interested out with that. There are alot of dates left and I think this would be a good way to spread Freestyle to our Northern Neighbors who knows maybe we could get Kevin Harris out of the office for a weekend. Any questions email me at the address above. Thanks. A.J.Kohn United Skateboard Association

Thanks Buddy.
That's great to hear about the clear top bushings. I've been sanding the old stock Tracker ones down to fit the shorter kingpin on the 120mm Orion Ultimate trucks that I use for freestyle.
I had Linda put me on the list.

YOYO. original clear top cushions are in the works!
The only change will be to the size. To work with the smaller
kingpins they will be slighty shorter. As you remember
these where the number one choice of just about every
freestyler through-out the 80's.
Anybody interested in purchasing a set please give us a call
and get on the list, as soon as they are available we'll send'em
out to ya. When you call ask for Linda

Hi Jeremy,

yes, my new YOYO model will be out in the US probably next week.
Available through Casperindustries; www.casperindustries.com

The yoyoskates.com is a refererence for what I have been doing in the past, still selling some stuff that I have here in Germany.
Most requests in Europe are for a complete setup and that's why I have been pushing it with products that work and are available.

I have been riding Trackers for the last two decades and Tracker always supported me.The reason why I do not sell Tracker Fultracks here in Germany is the fact that they do not fit 100% with the Roll Line wheels and second the
German distributor just added them when I already had a working setup. A direct import for little quantities just costs too much; one truck would cost about $30 retail at least.

Buddy at Tracker: Just go......and re-issue the clear extra hard outer grommets as well as some other stuff.
I'd be glad to help you as much as I can. Say HI to Larry!
You guys rock!!!

This is good, the more info i can get better.
Here at the Tracker Trucks factory we are putting
a lot of focus back into the freestyle market.
As one of the longest running truck companies
i feel it important to focus attention back to the
early creators of todays modern street skating.
We are currently working on new cushions and other
"freestyle" specific trucks and equipment.
At Tracker we realize the foundation that the early
freestyle skaters layed for the "street" heros of today.

Thanks for all of your input and i welcome tons more.
Sincerely,
Buddy

About board setup & trucks.
Hi Buddy,

I am riding 57mm wheels w/o any risers.
Trucks are cut down (to 4.5''hangerwidth) Tracker Darts.
The deck is a double kick/ concave Freestyle shape.
Take a look at the deck at www.yoyoskates.com.
Except for the trucks, this is the setup I am riding & selling.
