There's some of us older guys that prefer the meatgrinder too, not many, but thats fine with us, the less crowded it is, the more runs we get. we just need to sweep out the bottom and put up a block or 2 grind on.
"fresh roll in ditch" please explain

Chris - good points. We don't want cars at the top when we're running the race. Prior to the race shouldn't be a problem, but all it takes is one self-entitled dickhead blasting his tunes, being loud or acting like an ass and we are shut down. It would be difficult to organize a shuttle that early in the AM, but be my guest. Get yer warm-ups in any way you can and be there for the riders meeting.
I won't be setting the entire course up until Sat morn. (place/tape and re-gather 55 cones over 1.5 miles is a real time sink) I'd suggest setting the tough ones and "winging it" on the lightly marked ones. Let me know when you're gonna be there and I can get you some cones.
It's on like donkey kong.

VIVA LA PABST!!
Hey Marshall, Given that the course will be set at 7:00AM, and no cars are allowed at the top, will there be a shuttle vehicle available for warm-up runs? I wanna follow the rules, but I also want at least 1 warm-up. 2 would be even better. Please advise.
Also, will the cones be up Friday evening? Those little dots are real tough to see at that time of day.
P.S. Can I bring my kids to swim at Palmer's pool party?

I live in Boulder, CO. I love ditch skating & I am wondering if anyone knows of any in my area or anywhere in CO. I am planning the drive to the ISD, but would love to know of something closer to home.

Yes, Andy, Morris is a bitchen ditch. That's an upside to working at the TVI campus here in the heights. I get to skate Morris ditch everyday during my lunch break! I just don't know when we have time to set a course there though before next Monday.
How about this idea: Instead of having another RACE on Monday, let's just have a jam-style ditch session, kinda like how the Texas guys have the EZ-7 contest where it's just based on ditch style and all that good stuff. Where would be a good place for that? Upper 3-Mile? We wouldn't need any cones or clocks for that, just a panel of judges. And for entry fee, it could just be some product of some kind. Wheels, stickers, bearings, hardware, whatever (even used might be cool). Bring some goods and throw them into the pot. Then everyone rips the ditch as hard as they can for a while. Then we have all the spectators (including the riders) whoop and yell for who they thought ripped the hardest. The most whoops gets that person their pick of goods, then on down the line. How does that sound?

Yeah, if you want to run a race at another ditch like Harper or whatever, I'd be glad to bring my cones and some duct tape. Carmel is cool, but I'm always slow there. I always have a massive head wind after that first left-hander and can't keep up, I guess it's just me. Anyway, I just really liked throwing races at Rio Bravo because it was a non-bust and allowed for a really interesting course. Is Carmel the only other course that's marked right now?

The course more fun than a handful of roofies and a bottle of tequila.
Hard? Hell yes.
Scary? You bet.
We are world class racers and will be running on a world class course.
Off camber turns and bottom turns on the flat are part of the excitement.
Skateboarders will love it.
Whiners will have plenty to complain about.
Billy - you should be fine on a 44 incher. You're gonna dig it.

WAHL IT IS TIGHTER BUT NOT CYBER GAYNESS. THE MIDDLE, VERY FAST SECTION IS ABOUT THE SAME BUT THE TOP IS SICK. SOME SECTIONS HAVE 5 OR 6 OFFSETS PLACED ON THE BANK AND FLAT BOTTOM SO YOU HAVE TO TURN FLAT TO WALL TO FLAT AND SO ON ALL ON THE SAME WALL. YOU WILL LOVE IT GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE.

Does the Indian School ditch course have more cones this year? Is it more of a banked slalom than a down hill course?..Are shorter wheel bases being used, or is it still the call for a 44" PPS..?

All you "fresh meat" that are coming to the bear this weekend, you better come with grit teeth, 'cause this is when school really begins. Also, that Indian School course, WOW. AWESOME!! Definitely takes a little dialing in of the equipment. IT'S ON !!!
BTW, My money is on Will to repeat on Saturday. That dude just keeps getting faster & smoother all the time.
