that was cool practicing with you, Evans, Kaelon, and Rick Ick
at the SSS Secret Spot today, March 28 -'04.
It was pretty neat seein' Evans and you go toe-to-toe - with the
recorded times SO CLOSE.

Imagine a board with a foam core, fiberglass, camber and a kicktail. Yes, a kicktail. We've nicknamed it the 'ICK' tail, until something else sticks. It sort of looks like a bat too! But whatever.

I'm thinking of trying to get a surf in tomorrow morning before the SSS session. I don't know where to go so I was thinking Huntington Cliffs...close to the skate spot. Call me if you know of somewhere better. I'm down to meet around 7 or 8. The session at SSS starts at around 10. 415-244-1375

I've been putting in some mileage lately, East Bay, Marin, etc. Legs are getting really strong as well as the lungs!!

Today marks a day of firsts for my son Jackson!
We spent the morning skating the Ben Lomond skatepark, and Jackson was finally able to roll into all the transitions except the pool. (He's not quite getting the kick turn thing, but it's coming.) He can fakie. All this on his new BDS Bulldog Skates, Wicked Skills deck.
We spent the afternoon at Capitola beach in 2-3 foot waves... I surfed, and he was out there in the lineup with his boogie board. I would help him jockey for position, then give him a push into unbroken waves with him getting rides all the way to the beach. Same for his buddy who was visiting us. 8 year old cowabunga!
He's stoked and I'm proud AND stoked!

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the reminder. Yes, there will be slalom races hopefully soon. Strictly grassroots and a group effort. I don't mind getting things rolling by calling the time and place like we did last year, but would like to get everyone's help in running the thing. Now that the rain has finally died down, it looks like it's time to do just that. I'll talk with Gary and Julius this weekend and we'll try to post something soon. Does that sound cool?
