Michael,
If I want to buy an extra copy of current issue, will skate shops and book stores get them before us subscribers do? Or should I wait until mine comes in mail before checking the stores?

Mail...gotta love it!
4 days from Toronto to GERMANY...
5 days from Maine to somewhere in the USA!!!
but seriously, mags for the USA are coming out...they were delayed a few days because the truck that mails the mags to the USA missed the Friday delivery time.
So, have patience...they are coming!

Nice cover art! How about selling a set of five posters? (also sell each separately) The Wes Humpston cover, the two VCJ covers, the Phillips cover and another poster featuring the various artists tribute to the screaming hand!

Bought myself some Christmas presents: Skaterbuilt Jay Smith limited pool deck (Set up with purple Tracker 184's that Santa's helpers Buddy and Linda flowed me from Tracker) -- with BDS Black Death Cow Skulls - it skates awesome! Plus got a Skaterbuilt Maysey slalom hybrid deck to replace my old Turner with a stiff deck.
What I really want from Santa is Peace on Earth -- a quick and peaceful end to what's going on in Iraq and other wars.

Christmas

All I want for Christmas is to have some time off and skate a little, maybe do a little snowboarding. I would love to be near my family, but alas, they are back in the northwest and I am in the middle of the desert. I would love to be at the beach in Washington and getting rained on but that will have to wait/
And Snoball, thanks for calling me an ass. Because I am one. Sorry for having an opinion on anything. I could honestly care less if I make any friends on this board. My voice is simply my opinion on stuff. People take themselves to seriously sometimes.
Here is a quote to ponder over the holidays:
If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear. — George Orwell

hey chicka.....what's HAPPENING? you sound great as usual and thanks for the support, i've always appriciated your soulfullness; you ROCK! about Roxy, i was always in awe thinking how crazy it was that they asked me to support them since i was obviously not that steroetypical Roxy teenaged beauty. i respected them a lot for supporting an older athelete like myself. but then as team managers got shuffled, so did priorities. now that i've matured, i find the sexism/chauvinism in that company way too unhealthy to promote, thus my adding to my rationale for boycotting their products completely. so, snoball, you coming to cali. anytime soon? PLEASE, call me and let's SKATE! hehehe PS, MICHAEL B, the santa ripping a pool as a screen saver's TheBomb of 2007 and a great gift from santa............and what i really want from santa can't be posted!!!!! CHEERS to all skaters for 2008!

steve c., if there's an ass on this thread it's you.
rops to Isabelle, Booooo to Steve C. LOL Hey, don't complain about me commenting either. You guys put this in the public ring and as part of John Q Public, I get to comment lol
Iz, sorry you were dropped. Their loss all the way. I've always admired you and your voice in skating, so don't relent ;) My 2cent is that skaters should be loyal to each others interests and always suspect the vendor and the vendors friends and hold them to a much higher criteria than they'd like you to ;) And you vendors offended by that, wether you push mags, shoes, or any variety of skate gear...be offended and be afraid. Very afraid. Skaters are fantastic b.s. detectors and once you're spotted, word spreads fast in our community mwahhhh hahahahaha...."and away goes trouble, down the drain..." LOL

Sorry about posting as Isabelle. Identity theft runs rampant.
Here is another Roxy question for you all: What good does a company like Roxy do for sports? In the past it has sponsored a good number of womens skate contests right? Don't they sponsor large surf and snowboard contests? Are they offering larger purses than were offered in the past? I wonder?
And great post Buddy. It seems the more we dig into this the more complicated it becomes. I think a lot of companies have the best of intentions as far as helping the sport. But often the kind of "help" they are offering is trying to sell something. Whether that be product, people, or an idea.
And sense you had to bring our private conversation into the public, the emails you sent me kind of reinforce what I thought about you to begin with. My intial post was not completely motivated by my feeling for you, only partially. I wish you would have just left our little email exchange in the background, but you had to bring it out.
I still love you, and will pray for you over the holidays!

Happy Holidays to you to Isabelle. We all have misunderstanding and I think this whole thing kind of was one. I like to play devil's advocate and sometimes I come across like I am bitter, when in fact I am trying to get people fired up. Passion is what makes life fun, even when you don't agree or like what someone has to say.
