Did anyone see the SUN yesterday, Brands Hatch has been sold to an english consortium. I hope this does not affect UK slalom in anyway? Any chance someone could find out.

It was Brian and Michael. Sam and Dave were the soul legends responsible for "Hold On (I'm Coming)" and "Soul Man". Pro? Am? Who gives a damn?

Didn't "Sam & Dave" record that dreary chart topper "Matchstick men" back in the 70's...

As you are now 'Pro' you can't win many prizes, but cash only! Ask Ed, he's the king at subsidising his habit through performance. Ams get the better prizes. PS...Octane Sport accept credit cards....throwing money at new equipment is guarenteed to improve your times. (The smaller your wallet the lighter you are!)

As you may know the first professional British slalom team was inaugurated at Christmas. With the backing of a major finance company it is hoped to propel two rank amateurs to professional status.
Team CC racing would like to wish Sam and Dave, the fine soul (at the heart of slalom) duo all the best for the coming season. Here is hoping that they will make an impact both in this country, Europe and America over the coming year.

OK, there is going to be a Middle-age-shred.com Novice skate jam.
If you haven't ridden transitions for years or ever, this is for you. If you want to learn to carve or dropin or just do a kickturn on a ramp, this is for you. If you want to have a go in a bowl or a halfpipe(both wood)this is for you. OR if you can do all the above but are struggling to progress further, this is for you! Help and encouragement supplied, in a mellow atmosphere.
Sooner rather than later, around end of Jan early Feb. I will try to get a Fri or Sat night 8-midnight. We will most probably be using 'The Edge' in Leicester, which is ideal for beginners and/or improvers, with small bowl, nice small 1/2 pipe and fun street area etc...also Leicester is pretty much central England. All feedback welcome though.
Particularly want you forum non-posters to contribute to this one - email me if you don't want to go public.

I notice that Easyjet do not go to Zurich anymore. How doe everyone plan to get there?
David The Longleat event is associated with the downhill. Jon thinks that we will be OK.
On the subject of money I am told this event is costing £30K, so best behaviour.

Dave H, have you finally located John Sablosky and the elixir of eternal '77? If so, then it's high bloomin' time he signed the board at the top of this image (yes it is a bedroom wall):
Top stuff!

Clingfilm....NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only ramps the Van will be seeing are the ones in garages. But I may be able to move stuff from place to place.
I believe that Makro will be selling generators for £25 on 7th Jan. If so I'll be getting at least 1.

Clingfilm, Good work on listing the Euro schedule, presumably July is free for compulsory couch tattying in front of the Tour du France. ...umm, "Go Lance!" as they say in Texas.
As regards starts, what's the situation with the Eastbourne organiser who suggested that he might build ramps for this year's event? It may be worth throwing a few designs his way. Jani seems to have a special interest on various layouts; those used at Greuningen were of full timber construction and originally put together for the Tunnel Race. A more S-shaped version of this ramp with extra weight to hold down the front might work well.
Just to get the board rolling in a small way, let us know when the website is updated so that UKSSA subs can be sent in for 2004 membership.

Strides van - starting ramps

On 1/5/2004 Clingfilm

Can we use Strides van as the starting ramp platform? Has anyone ideas for ramps. I saw some in Argos (quater pipe) which may do. Anyone tried it? Remember we have £600 to spend plus this years money. I need to buy more tape switches and timers if possible, which will cost around £200. Wireless solution should be investigated and a generator would be good, does anyone have a small one we could use.
