Clingfilm, the run in on the ramp looks short and the top transition is a bit sudden, but it might be worth further investigation to see if the ramp can be developed. Injection moulded quarter pipe. Size (H)81, (W)117, (L)182.2cm to top deck. (H)172.7cm to top of rear guard. High impact resistant, injection moulded platform and ramp surfaces. Steel structural supports, nylon fabric rear safety panel. Supplied with 4 bags designed to hold a total of 80kg of dry sand ballast (not supplied), to provide stability and a secure foundation.

'film, what type of start - slalom? I recomend (for slalom) a 3'-4' roll-in, for those ith a larger wheel-base I'd say that you should try a long(ish) 30 degree bank

also, when I last went to greenwich (about 3 years ago) there were some steps and benches if you were to feel inclined that way (I do have a fondness for shorter boards too)

Greenwich Park is one of the best places to longboard in the London area, Lovers Walk, the Big red road and a number of the other pathes are all great, be careful of the park police and watch out for pedestrians. There has been an unofficial "GW crew" skating there every wednesday for the last few years, It should start again when its dry.
P.S. Be careful, there have been a number of "hospital case" crashes there!!

If you see CW in the store...buy it!!!!!!! I dont import those issues, and once I've run the calculator over prices I hope to match the Comag price from issue 9 onwards. Especially as we have sourced a clever way of shipping. The great news is that a lot of the stuff we know and love advertises in CW so I think its fantastic news that you can get it from newsagents, who would never consider buying small numbers from a non-magazine importer source... And...I wont feel so bad about selling mags with my ugly mug in it!!!!!!!! Now you all have a great incentive to race and pose for piccies. Hoorah!!!!!
And Sam, better book a place for Gurston in February. Downhill blast, fantastic. Better buy a heater for the van,

M.Astercard,
Not wanting to EGG any one on, but i feel the financial backers have limited credability VIS A vee, slalom racing. They will most likely want something in return ( usually 2% or £5 whichever is greater ), giving the 2 chaps no RBS ADVANTAge in the long run. Its likely that they will not give 2 CAHOOTS about the team, In fact i have recommended my Solicitors (MORGAN, STANLEY, DEAN & WITTER) to Sam for Advice. I for (CAPITAL) ONE hope that we all have a good year, once it stops raining!!

Chris, the 'pro team' is no more than a figment of frustrated and rambling winter minds whose bodies cannot skate. CC (or credit card) Racing relates to those of us who, frustrated by lack of skill and speed, understand the shameless training therapy of shopping oneself faster. Mistakenly so.
If a Sponsored Team were to exist, it would need verification and authorisation from the UKSSA initially in order to compete in any organised events, in which case you would be the first to be contacted.
What it does show, however, is a competitive spirit and camaraderie for the oncoming season which can only be healthy for the sport. Local or regional team competition might be a good way towards a points system, so that at least one representative can be available for any one of the UK or Europe-based events and so maintain a competitive continuity. It might also help towards community sponsorship. Only two racers competed in all of the UKSSA featured European events last year, and though commendable as it is, I don't believe that a national standing should be related on attendance alone. Possibly small teams of two or three riders could augment the already very good independent UKSSA standings. It's just another rambling Winter thought; either way, it sounds like a good reason to meet up and drink ales again.
Oh, and we would not have to wear matching team hot-pants and crop-tops. Unless, of course...

I understand that our contact at Brands is moving to Silverstone, so we may be able to use this. Brands at the moment should not be affected by the purchase and our contact assures us that we will be able to skate this year. However as we are a "no money" proposition this ia always liable to change. The new group are also responsible for Cadwell park.
We have been anticipating this for the last two years so it is not too new news for us. At the moment we are happy with the situation.
