Mrs Miggins Pie Shop Emporium is on standby!
Richy and Maria made a ton of friends last time they came over. It'll be great to see you both at the races.

Just wanted to stop in and say "Hi" and let you all know about a simple “month at a glance” calendar which we are hosting on our website: SK8KINGS.COM (go to “NEWS” and then “EVENT CALENDAR”).
I’ve plotted all the upcoming slalom and other events I know about and am making updates regularly. The main goal is to incorporate as many skate-related events as possible into one list/location regardless of discipline. Anyway – it’s a free thing and open to everyone so if you’re planning something and trying to avoid other events – it’s a free resource for you to check. Each listing is basic but can include links to event web pages and registration pages (which I’ve included for everything I know about). Through Feb 4 -- the public (you) can submit events directly if you want. Otherwise – just shoot me an e-mail with the info and I’ll add it.
PS -- Richy and I are working on our Euro travel plans for the 2004 slalom season. Hoping to start in Paris jump across to Brands and then make our way to Italy. If we can swing the funds and time off work -- will try to extend to Switzerland the following week. Hoping to hook up with all the cool new friends we met last year! Cheers!

I once flew back from Holland and the ONLY item I had with me was a skateboard. No luggage, no bags, and I was in shorts and a T shirt. I didnt have me kneepad round me ankles though. I was stopped by customs at London City, the first guy said "No Luggage...how come???" Second Customs man says "Do you skate the Rom?" and laughed, turned out he was a skater. no mairigolds that time thankfully. There is a longboarding US pilot I read about once, he takes his board with him everywhere.

Presumably this directive would only ban skateboards as hand luggage?

Just did an intterview with the Times about the EU directive to ban skateboards from planes because we are likely to hijack them with them. Hopefully the press are on our side, we shall see if they print anything.

Vans and Comp

In order to get the insurance down on the van it now has 5 seats. For some reason insurance companies think that 11 seats will be filled with 11 Tony Hawk's and charge a fortune in case of accident. As I was actually looking for a van the extra seats are a bonus. Currently the vans being tinted, and schtuff. Looking good. Should be perfect for Bude and other comps.

If this is not a bust, How about a slalom comp (informal). No starting ramp required. Michael, how about a road trip in the new van?
I know it's winter but the sun is out now. Just need a few dry days.

I've heard that place refered to as 'daves ditch' (after the finder); there was a pic of it in sidewalk (mark nicolson-frontside flip) isn't it a bust now? PS:wig worland, richie hopson, marc churchill, pete king and, of course, dave have been there....

Ahh, Luton. Memories of the skatepark at the swimming baths, SKFco skateboard company (the bearings were ace, the rest was cr-ap), the Speedflex ramps etc. etc. And now there's a monster bank you say? I must visit my dear old white-haired mother...
