Clingfilm, I tried to join, but realized at the checkout that it states 'All prices are in US Dollars.' Is this correct? And if you haven't bought the t-shirts yet, then can we go for light grey? It conceals the ketchup, blood and sweat much better than white... (and nervy wee stains).
Paul K. 4 teas? Are you showing your age?

Hi Guys Are there any dates for brands yet? I came to the second one in 2003 and had a blast. Thing is, I was rather hoping that I could organise a group of us from the Middle-age-shred ranks to tag along. I very much dought we could or would enter the main comps, but would be good if you could help us set up our own little cone shanningans and just let us use the back of the track just to bomb about and have some fun. We'll obviousley be happy to pay some money towards the day. What do you reckon?

Tried to. The IOC employ a rotund lederhosen-clad Tiroler who eats an inch of wurst per second. We had so many timed rides that the poor moustachioed yodeller swelled, burst and coated a large area of the Black Forest in fleischkaese. So damned fragile, these timing systems. Right Michael?

Using 3dm's super secret aluminium deck, I was propelled to 5th position (despite this surprisingly camp faux-macho pose):
For Paul K's interest, the starts are much easier lying down, and before Strange and Michael ask, YES. The fluoros and braces were worn on the luge especially for you (thanks Kylie M).
I was wrong about those rollen-rodels. And I was beaten by a girl.

The only thing that enraged me was being lumped in with the kinds of people who take part in pastimes such as fishing, lacrosse, hockey, snooker and golf. Love the use of the word "toys" though.

CLICK HERE TO PRINT CLOSE WINDOW January 17, 2004 Skateboard banned as new terror weapon By Anthony Browne, Brussels Correspondent
THE skateboard has been propelled into the front line of the War on Terror.
The European Commission yesterday labelled the toys as weapons that could be used to hijack an aircraft and banned them from the cabins of all planes taking off in the EU.
The skateboard was not alone in being deemed a potential weapon of mass destruction. Lacrosse sticks, golf clubs, pool cues and fishing rods were also included on the Commission’s list of items that European Union passengers will be prevented from taking on to aircraft.
Instead they will have to hand them over so that they can be placed in the hold.
However, the Commission evidently believes that even the most determined terrorists would find it difficult to hijack a plane with a tennis racket or a juggling club; both items escaped the ban.
The ruling has enraged Britain’s skateboarders, who are more used to being accused of antisocial behaviour than terrorism. They believe that the ban goes too far and fear that their precious boards — which can be worth hundreds of pounds — could be damaged if they have to go in the hold. A competition-standard skateboard costs about £400.
“It’s crazy. You couldn’t hijack a plane with them. You might as well ban walking sticks,” said Chris Linford, president of the UK Skateboard Slalom Association. “I could do far more damage with my laptop — it’s just as heavy and sharper.”
Chris Tanner, director of the Lush Longboards skateboard shop in Sheffield, said: “It’s probably because they don’t like people skateboarding around departure lounges, which always have those lovely big expanses of flat smooth surfaces.”
The Commission admitted that it had no evidence that al-Qaeda was stockpiling skateboards, but insisted that they posed a very real threat to airlines. “They have wheels that you could unscrew and use, and you could use it to break a window,” a spokeswoman said.
