Michael, Last week I walked into a surf shop in Newquay (Is it called Revolver?, it's the one with a wall that looks like the contents of your car boot anyway) just as a guy was drying off a yellow and blue dyed Avalon. Very nice, i'm thinking of doing something similar to mine...

I'm planning to be at HP from about 2ish Sunday - early as I'm off for a drink at 6. I'll have cones. Of course, entirely dependent on the'back to its old self' British weather...

I should be up for a session on sunday but my first choice would be Crystal Palace, far fewer idiots and unsupervised kids around. Less pushing required as well.
I am happy to go with majority. Anyone else free on sunday?

"Back in the day" is a colloquialism as it was night time and a sunday, there was a magic roundabout special on BBC2 and we had crumpets for tea with some bakewell tart for afters.

Howdy, I've just been reading some posts on another site, where people kept referring to "back in the day" Can anyone remember exactly what day that was? I seem to remember it being a Sunday and it was raining, but it was a long time ago! Oh and Jonboy, speak to Mr Stride about flexy, carvy type stuff, he's yer man!

There's no pleasing some people. They complain about kids (of all ages!) skating in the street and hanging around "street corners", then when the skaters are finally given a safe, dedicated area in which to skate, those same people protest against it.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3184681.stm
And even though the piece bangs on about some of the protesters being elderly, you can pretty much guarantee they are the minority. I'd bet a month's wages most of these protesters are middle-aged, killjoy, Daily Mail readers whose idea of fun is watching "Our Boys" kicking the backsides of harmless foreigners on the six o'clock news. Their rules are really starting to annoy me. Grrrrrrrrr.
(It's also reassuring to see the BBC's photo files are bang up to date.)

I'm back and catching up. Brands on Sunday and the last event of the year at EPIC. Both UKSSA points available.
At EPIC will have UKSSA AGM in the afternoon , after 1.00pm, new rules and regulations needs to be discussed and what you all want to do next year. I will forward details later.

Maidenhead is a hotbed of slalom and downhill car park bombing 'specially in the winter. I'll drop you an e-amil with contact details of the stalwarts, Jason and Luke, both great downhillers who do a fair bit of slalom. Meantime there is a regular gathering at Hyde Park Thursday eves and Hove on Fridays. Also there is a comp on Sat 4th October, indoors at Epic skatepark. Everyone is welcome. Lots of practice time. And often boards to borrow.

Just got back from a fantastic week at Deux Alpes with Martin, where he introduced me to the world of slalom skateboarding - and I'm hooked. Does anyone skate in the Henley-on-Thames/Reading/Oxford/Maidenhead area? I need to get back on a board soon.
